I'm running the engage kit..on my 2nd gen DD..

Do I regret buying the kit? No..because I wanted a kit that I could buy and still afford (at the time) the coilovers, spindles, and bypasses, and have custom brake lines made, etc.

Should I have saved up more and bought a different kit? No..because it doesn't have to be pretty and perfect to get the job done.

Yes there are a few areas lacking in detail..but easily fixed (for those with the tools/skills to do so). I have adapted and added to make it what it needs to be..but I don't mind..because I enjoy that kind of thing..

We are all here because we are all able to put our own twist on life/products/etc. That's what having a "custom" is all about!!

In the end, I wanted a "cool" truck so I could be unique just like everybody else on this forum; yet have functionality rather than dropping the cash for a cheap lift or drop bracket kit.

Do I use my truck for it's built purpose? No..I dont drive off road all the time..in fact only about 5% of my off roading is done when I dont want to sit in traffic on my way home.

To wrap it all up..its a functional kit..it's not the prettiest..but it doesn't really matter..it works..

im going to agree with Anthony250f, while i run an engage kit too, ive put it through its paces, so has he.

the kit has NOT left me stranded. and honestly my only complaint with it is the Fit and Finish. the moral is, engage couldve designed and taken times on a few more points on their kit, to make it look, fit and perform MUCH better.

if you only have 2200 for a kit, and your money is burning a hole in your pocket, buy a kit from engage. otherwise, wait patiently, for a little more cash, and go with an Lsk , MCM, dirt designs or DTF kit. hell even a TC or Camburg if you want a proven off the shelf bolt on.

You swapped vehicles with my brother in law..and we had no issues with that engage kit when that was the only thing on that truck..

BTW..keep up the good work with it..I keep him updated with the progress you've made with it.. :headbang:

There shouldn't even be an argument, what's on my truck effects none of you whatsoever. Arguing the kit is a dick measuring contest amongst yourselves to try to sound more knowledgable than the other.

Why spend money on something you have to fix straight out of the box when you can save up a few hundred more and just get a proven camburg or tc kit that doesnt have any of the problems mentioned earlier

But some people are, and you still take their advice as an argument. As you said, its not an argument, its advice being given from people with experience, its up to you to either fight the advice or accept it

Because it's not just a few hundred more for their kits, I can't justify a few thousand extra dollars for options that come standard on engages kit, the adjustments to make it the way I want it will cost maybe 50 bucks more. These proven kits have failed too, every kit has the same stress points and failure possibility, a lot has to do with the person behind the wheel

so you mean to tell me that TC's 3.5" kit @3277 is thousands more then an Engage which comes with options that the others you need to pay for? Im curious on what "options" are for few thousand dollars?

I understand that the Engage kit is on sale, but does it come with options the others dont? That are a few thousand dollars?

For 3300 you get hiemed uppers with tc, 2900 gets you bushing uppers as far as I know.

That's all well and good, and it started out fine, people started giving their advice in a shitty way and it turned negative. I also in no way asked for any advice on what I was planning to do, I simply said what kit I was going to run and everyone decided to chime in. I understand concern for safety and all the other things being said however no one knows what I plan to do to the kit to custom fit my needs. why modify a brand new kit when I can spend more for another kit? Because that's what I would like to do and it works for me

Not too many people know this but if you have a tc kit and you want to add spindles, you need completely different uppers. Also when adding in what they charge for hiemed ucas and Delrin bushings, it's not cheap. Not bashing just saying.
