Question- I have a 98 tacoma and am interested in a plate bumper. Most of them require cutting off the front ends of the frame from my understanding.

Are there any that dont require this or is there a way to revert this process? Would the frame extenders from a 01-04 frame bolt up? Sorry for all the questions!

Pretty sure they all have to be cut unless its custom fabbed, wasn't hard to do at all grinder for about 5 minutes then test fit after you cut but before you weld to make sure

Zach, can you update that 4x innovations now has a swing out option on their rear bumper?
I'm PM'ing a member for permission to use his photo, so you might have a photo to add.

My completely finished TG bumper. I painted everything behind it today and removed some crap that was hanging down:

I got it from Summit. Shipped, it was a little over $500. Well worth it, IMO.

Not bad! After I get that, I'll have to convince Adam to make me one of his rear bumpers ...*cough cough :)

He's talking about a plate bumper though. TG only has tube bumpers. :p

And I'm proud of my 98 frame nipples! :D

Here's a Demello tube front bumper I got through a trade. It came with headlight hoops, no skid, and was supposed to be weld on. I had the bumper modified so I could bolt it up and also had a bracket added so I could mount my RAT skid.

Here are some pics of its progress.

    Picked up from greyhound.
    photo1-9_dc4bd16732789ad484e0bbee539b1b058c2710c3.jpg

    image_4-2_26f254e4ea2d61ac616756f4a113f759761f8a84.jpg

I got lucky that the skid was a rectangle so I took some measurements and got a cut-to-size piece of 1/8" aluminum online.

Aluminum skid mocked up with tape so I could mark where I needed to drill mounting holes.

    Skid mounted!
    photo3-4_ba23b5d3e40ec9bf654415fc8cd34cf034fe082d.jpg

Got the bumper mounted to the truck.
    image_1-3_a990f7b5821ebcfe0a1df1ab03bf11eb02a16663.jpg

I wasn't liking the headlight hoops. So I had a local shop cut them off and also add some mounting points for the bumper. They added a bracket for my RAT skid as well.

    New look!

Finally, I added some 5" Rugged Ridge HIDs and painted/mounted up my RAT skid.

Nice bumper! I thought it looked good with the headlight hoops but seeing the after does look better without.
