Every once in a while I'll run 4wd for a few seconds on pavement - I just run in a straight line, engage, drive, disengage. It's not going to hurt anything going straight and it'll still move stuff around.

I've never done any off-roading so I can't wait to take mine to the trails, got it 2 weeks ago & wish I could off-road more often but work schedule get in the way plus I live in Houston.

Had mine about a month now and been out on the trails twice. Nothing too confined or hard on the truck. Don't plan on doing any mudding or rocks (I'm in FL so there isn't a rock in the whole state) plus it's a prerunner so only easy trails. Did go down one trail with the bushes brushing on the sides but no damage. Probably just keep doing the same. It's enough for me and I'm happy.

I babied mine for the first 1000 miles then went out to the local sand dunes and bounced it off the rev. limiter a few times. :headbang:

Had my 14 since sept. been stuck in mud twice. Been down countless trails. Hit snow banks. Did my first burnout last night after my buddies funeral. Give it hell was his motto. Only 6500 miles. Way more fun than my old wrx. Love the truck

BAJA: In Spanish, the j makes the sound of an English h. The h in Spanish is silent. 'Baja' means 'Lower', and in this case is short for Lower California.

The U.S. state of California was originally called New (Nueva) California, then Upper California (English for 'Alta California').

The peninsula (now known as Baja California) was 'California' first, then when the Spanish began to occupy the area north of the peninsula, they called it Nueva California and eventually Alta California. What was just 'California' became Antigua (Old) California and then Baja (Lower) California... all this beginning about 1769.

When the United States won the war with Mexico in 1848, and we took about half of it (we paid naturally)... We just dropped the Alta from the name. Sort of a full about face on the names.

Not grammer as much as history and linguistics (Spanish to English)...

Baha doesn't mean anything and sounds like the English Baa--aah. Baja means low or lower and sounds like the English Baa-HAH.

I live out in the woods so if I leave the house I'm on dirt until I hit the pavement

I had my right front OEM shock blow the seals at around 20k so I drive a little slower on the wash board roads and pig trails near my house now

In Hawaii it is inevitable that sand/mud will find it's way into your cab and bed. As far as the outside, I try to stray toward the wider trails so that I won't gouge the sides and rip a mirror off. I am a believer that it is a truck (tho she is kinda purdy right now) and that is what I bought it for. Option 2.5 for me! Aloha!:D

Took me about three months to get lift kit, wheels, tires and install it and for on the trails right away. Couldn't be happier with my truck.
