I'm a new owner of a TRD OR dbl cab looking to do some snow wheeling either at Tinkham, Tonga, or other...

I'm a Jeep defector and looking to see what this thing can do before planning out any changes.

I've been to Tahuya many times, but really looking for some snow right now. Any takers?

I would say check with Penguins_cc (Will) and see if he is up for it. I am pretty much stock on dying factory tires, so deep snow and mud are more of a challenge for me.

Thanks man. Hopefully he follows this thread.

I'm running the stock BFG T/A's. They're a far cry from the DuraTraks I had on my JKU, but they might not be that bad in the snow when aired down.

I have a rotating work schedule, so my time available rotates throughout the week.

from what I have heard on those BFGs, they don't perform in the snow like one would expect.

also, you can PM him, and have a better chance at contacting him. he does follow this thread, but has been kinda quiet lately.

Are they the BFG Rugged Trail T/As or All Terrains? All the sets of All Terrains I've had have done just fine in the snow. Rugged Trails suck in all conditions though!

Im thinking of playing in the snow on the 18th. I havent decided on a location yet (depends on snow level). I took my OR out last year stock and it did OK. The mud flaps will slow you down though (act like big scoops). Where do you live? Everett, north, or soutg.

    crap bolted and welded together....
I managed to find a small CB to cram in the little spot in the center console armrest part. It works pretty well, just have to make sure your unit is shallow enough to not look fugly in their.

I can snap a pic if you want to see.

I'm tempted with Tahuya but I'd rather go somewhere snowy and up in the mountains. I am still undecided...

I live in Bremerton for now. No dice on the 18th, but I have the 20th (MLK Day) off. Want to go then?

Hi Chris, I too just defected from a JKU to my Taco TRD OR. I'm in the Bremerton area. Did you wheel your Jeep?

Yeah, it had a 5.5" Rubicon Express lift, trimmed fenders, rhino-lined interior on 33s.

I used to live 3 miles from Tahuya (in Allyn [next town south from Belfair]).

Now I moved to Silverdale and the taco is a little more practical (...at least for now in its stock form).

I'm in the same boat..I'll be in leavenworth that weekend and I'm not sure I'll want to make the drive to Tahuya on Sunday morning. Not to mention the long drive back to Bellingham at the end of the day. If only we were doing Tonga ridge again!

Yeah, same here. I had a 2" OME lift with PSC sliders and 33" Duratraks. I wheeled it pretty much everywhere. My favorite spot was Evan's Creek. I'm looking to do some easy snow wheeling if you're ever interested.

Haha, not sure if they would really care about that but this is probably the only opportunity I will have to travel like this on the company dime so it's hard to pass up.

I understand making use of the company. I have made use of my union like that a few times with a trip to Portland, OR and WA DC for pretty much a big party.

I'm fine with the convoy, but we will be going 101. Toll booths are a sin.

Don't feel bad Mike. I have been working nightshift for about a month now and my best thinking time is while I am at work, thus I am constantly checking for updates on here while I should be working.
