    Run more circuits

You shouldn't have appliances , space heaters and AC units all on the same circuit

I agree. But a lot of people don't have a clue how or the money too run more circuits or a sub panel.

I'm referring to exsiting wiring. But I'm realizing that my argument for the 12awg and 20 fuses is flawed in the sense of why over build it in the first place...

Yep , and that's what properly sized breakers and circuits protect you against

For the truck bed outlight, it wouldn't even run a very small 1 cubic foot or so refridgerator while driving.

On home circuits I always like to use 12 gage wire for new circuits in any of the addition or remodling projects I've ever done in my own home. That way I always have the option to safely use either 15 or 20 amp breakers on any of them as needed.

But it's been quite a while and copper has gone up considerably. So that might get a little out of hand if wiring an entire house nowadays.

I have the SR5, so no outlet, but there's times I wish I had one for the things that it is capable, although limted, of doing, as you listed above. I plan on getting and hard wirirng a conenction for somethng like this: http://www.homedepot.com/p/BLACK-DECKER-800-Watt-Dual-Outlet-Power-Inverter-PI800BB/202564877
Currently I have this, whcih works fine for basics, especially charging batteries, phones and laptops during wave and ridge camps.

Has anyone considered replacing the current inverter in the truck with a beefier one, say 1000 wats (pure sine wave)? I asked the dealership the other day where the current inverter was physcially located and they said under the console which may or may not be correct. I have a dual battery update planned and thought about doing this in order to use the existing wiring in the truck in addition to adding other outlets. There might be some heat issues involved depending on the location of the current inverter or placement issues to install another one but would like some input back if anyone knows more about the current inverter installed in the truck and possibilities of replacing it.

That's all I needed to know. At least the bed outlet will allow me to catch a game and or setup a tailgate party.

That's 2400 watts @ 120 volts generally house hold outlets are 15 amp you can not plug a 20 plug into a 15 amp outlet. The little Toyota inverter is 400 watts.

That's still 1080 watts leaving you 680 watts short of running a 90A welder with a 400 watt inverter.

Better be a #6 if you have a 50 amp outlet and the 20 amps better not be on the same circuit cause you'll never get a #6 wire on a 20 amp socket.
