I have been.:p I picked up the 2"OD .25" wall DOM (no more PVC! :woot:) and finalized the front lower links. Got em welded up, setup the axle at full bump so I could make a cardboard mock up of the oil pan. I'll weld up the oil pan tomorrow and probably get the engine removed. Next step will be rebuilding the firewall.

Did you sleeve the lowers or keep them .25 wall?

2"-1/4"wall DOM does have a greater MOI than 1 1/2"-1/4"wall DOM, but I did notice after the last trip my tie-rod is bend pretty badly already, I would imagine my lowers would be too if they were only 1/4" wall...

I left them .25", less likely to take direct hits than a tie rod or rear links. Rear links will definitely be reinforced

I put epoxy on it as best as possible (with it still in place).

    Didn't work....

What kind of epoxy? Was it fully cured before you filled it?

I'm no expert, but you probably want something that flexes. What i would do is first plug the hole and then use sikaflex or possibly e6000, i think that's the name, to cover the plug.

The drain cock on my radiator developed a leak so i put some gasket maker in it and plugged it with a screw, held up for a day of driving and was under pressure.

How exactly did he put a hole in it anyway?

Sorry to thread jack Mr 45 but there was nothing going on anyway:p

While drilling a hole in my core support, Monte forgot to put a piece of wood or metal between the washer fluid reservoir and the core support. Boom! hole.

I have silicone adhesive. I tried plugging it with the gnarled piece of plastic from the drill. Granted it was nighttime and about 20 degrees when I did it so that has something to do with it.

How much trimming did you do to fit those 33x12.5s? I'm sure you answered it somewhere, but I plan on running the same wheel and tire size eventually.

    Your build is my inspiration!

Haha at least your's still runs. :(

Not much, just beat the pinch weld flat and probably a little trimming of the flares and you should be good to go. Don't recall ever taking a pic. :anonymous:

trim back the plastic fender liner, and take a BFH to the entire pinch weld area

Yeah I asked the local Tires Plus to push the caster as far forward as possible and they said to move it out of spec would be an extra $90. F that!! I declined.

Definitely need to change the caster. I'm running the same tires with OME 882 coils and I still get rubbing when turning over some bumps. I need to beat down the pinch welds some more but it will just reduce the rubbing not eliminate it. Luckily, I have lifetime alignment (guess the 100 dollars extra will come in handy).
