Building "Maggie"

Very happy with the bumper. The install is straight forward and without complication. However, the install directions were marginal at best. Not necessary to have them though.

When bolting to the truck mounting brackets, make sure to use the nuts from the original bumper. I ended up having to cut the studs off because I used the wrong nut and stripped them out.

 

Other than your mistake any cutting or major modification required.

 

None, as simple as unbolting the stock bumper and bolting on the Moab. Having a second person is useful but it can be done by yourself.

 

Gotcha thanks for your good words I got a a few months to decide but I'm leaning this way. Doesn't seen like build time is crazy on these bumpers. I plan on getting one maybe tax time or atleast when it warms up a bit. I just gotta see how my suspension is gonna handle it.

 

Nathan at CBI is most helpful and he had mine out the door in a matter of a couple weeks including Thanksgiving week. Great product.

So far my 600# Kings are doing well without an installed winch yet. That'll be a game changer. Gonna need 700's then. The bumper is only 100 pounds.

 

Gotcha I'm not sure if I'm gonna run a winch in it or not long run probably but not anytime soon. Your kings are adjustable tho too

Nice build. I'm in a similar situation with my access cab with the idea in the back of my mind that I should trade it for a double cab. Other than the ImMrYo mirror bracket I think I'm going to hold off on mods until I figure out for sure if I'm trading it or not.

 

I hear ya. All the mods I did to the PreRunner could easily be moved over to the 4wd. Definitely makes sure you have what you want before getting too crazy, as you really limit the field for selling it if you ever go down that road.

 

So since the last post a little change has happened. I found a screaming deal on Craigslist for a set of black WeatherTechs. Needless to say, they are now resting comfortably in the Taco.

And...

Today I closed a deal on a rear set of King Resi's. Gonna be wearing King Bling on all four corners! I wasn't necessarily going to replace the ProComps on the rear but, as always, lurking around TacomaWorld while bored gets expensive. I want to give a shoutout to ambiguous for the great deal.

With less than 5 months to Moab I still have much to accomplish!

 

Oh, and I found a CB to install. It's the Cobra I9DX IV. Should pick it up this week. I've never installed a CB so that'll be interesting. Any words of wisdom would be appreciated.

I love all the changes, i wish i could do to my rig but it's a Prerunner Locked in the rear, but i've since bought a 82' Toyota P/U Solid Axel to beat on instead.

So once i lock the front and rear and rehear to 5.29 and slap some 35's im gonna go have some fun!

 

dude, you saw how easy it was for me and dennis, depending on where you want it mounted.

 

I want mine in the center counsel so a little disassembly is going to be required. I may change my mind though depending on if I can find a better place.

 

I think if I ever get a snorkel, I'd do flared fenders at the same time.
