My friend just got fired from his job of 15 years. It was extremely unfair, but it happened.

I would do absolutely anything for this fella! We are ONLY friends, but in my eyes he is perfection. I felt like it was the end of the world when I found out I would no longer see him at work. I would like to let him know these things. But...what do I do? Send some sort of gift? Or do I just tell him what I think about him? Do I sneak over and wash his truck or mow his grass someday when he's not at home? Go to the electric company and pay his electric bill? I just wanna do something nice for him, but I have no idea what that should be. Any suggestions?

x2! right now he probably needs some support, so be his support system. encourage him and be positive. but most importantly, definitely listen to him when he wants to talk.

but let's do lunch for starters lol

I thought I felt some homosexual tension in this thread, but then I saw you're a chick.

Yes. "Wash his truck for him", or whatever you call it down there...

Don't buy him flowers, a gift, etc. It's a nice gesture, but that stuff is a complete waste for most guys. He won't want your money or your stuff, but he will appreciate your friendship.

    +1 for the lunch idea.

Buy him lunch, listen while he vents. That'll be a big help and show him that you care.

Ummm...yeah! I would be more than friends, and he knows that. There has been some flirtin/joking going on for several years, that's for sure! But I'd wanna keep him as a friend no matter what, so if it never goes any further, I am cool with that! He is such a humorous smart-@ss, and I love that. It makes my day!

I think I am going to send him a giftcard. I'll send it anonymously, but he'll know where it came from, trust me!

    Thanks for all the suggestions!

I wish! Trust me, I'm not "fit" for a calendar. Give me some time, maybe the 2011 women of TW calendar!

Crazy suggestions encouraged. He and I are always joking about something. (TENSION maybe?!)
