I have a 2007 SR5 all stock, no upgrades, and I am replacing my stock Dunlop 245/75/16. I have read on these forums that that is OK. I went to NTB over the weekend and they stated they would not put 265/75/16 on the truck due to safety and the ABS brakes may not function as they should. They suggested 265/70/16. I do kind of want the bigger 265/75/16. Can anyone speak to this? Is this really a safety concern? I don't really care of my odometer is slightly off, although I think I read somewhere here that the odemeter readings are actually more accurate with the 265/75/16s.

They next time I bring my truck to the dealer can the brakes be re-calibrated for the the 265/75/16s?

I am looking at doing the exact same thing. The ABS will not be affected by a larger rolling diameter tire, as long as you change all 4 tires at the same time. The only concern would be rubbing when the suspension is compressed and the wheel is turned to full lock, but from what I've been reading this shouldn't be a problem with 265/75-16 tires on stock 4x4 suspension.

You won't have any rubbing issues with either of those tires. OP, that shop has no idea what they are talking about. There are guys rolling 285/75 (with 3" lift) without ABS issues. You will not need to re-calibrate the brakes. I would find another shop.
