Ok so I'm having a problem getting my bike in the bed. My truck is lifted, not much but it still is. And I'm not very tall so I can't put my bike in there by myself. So I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem and if so what did you do? I'm considering buying a receiver carrier but I dont want to if I don't have to

I use to have the issue but then I found a milk crate and used it as a step to get in the back of the truck

I usually just ride up the ramp and into the back of the truck, just look at it like single track. :D
Unloading I use my center stand to step on.

On my '83 p/u, I had 9" of lift and ran 38s'. I got two 12' long 2x10s, cut them in half and rejoined them with a large hinge. I would unfold them and place a support box I made under the hinge. I'd idle the bike up one ramp, and walked up the other. When I was done I'd fold 'em up and slide 'em in the bed. Worked like a charm.

Do you have a kickstand on the bike? If you have a kickstand there is no need to get up in the bed with the bike while loading. Position the ramp so it's offset toward the drivers side and just let it lean over a little as it goes up the ramp and you stay on the ground walking next to the bed. Then just reach in and flip the kickstand down and climb up in there to tie it down. You can do this with a triagle stand also jus a little more tricky.

Use the center stand as a step in front of the tailgate.

Get an Ogio step up ramp. They work really well.

I have two ramps, one cheap harbor freight 5' one and then I have a 7ft folding for the bike. I walk up one and push or creep the bike up the other with the clutch.

I put a strip of grippy material on the inside lip of the tailgate so the ramps don't slide around when it's wet.

If you're really having a hard time, get one of those tri folding atv ramps, my buddy has a 10-12" raised diesel and works fine for him, he is around 5'6" and he puts in in with ease, but they are pricey. Other than a milk crate, and starting work on a stair master, nothing more you can do..

Yo Schector! If it is a dirt bike, Put a 2 x 6 against the front wall of the bed. Then just ride the bike up and in. Just be confident and use spotters the first couple tries. The 2 x 6 is so you do not damage the front wall. the front wall is flimsy on the Tacoma. Or, use 2 ramps, and another person to push the bike up.

    good luck,

I use a folding atv ramp which I walk the bike up with it running. My friend use a folding step stool and a bike ramp.
