New Entune 3.1 Update Info

I found out last week that the latest Entune update had been released to 3.1. Toyota has been kinda hush hush on releasing this update compared to the previous ones.
I had my dealer perform the update yesterday and it did fix some of my issues. The biggest headache was whenever I would plug in my phone the music would start playing automatically from anywhere in my library. It fixed that problem thank goodness. I used to get a sound from my speakers whenever I would receive a text. It did it all the time when I first got my truck and then it stopped working. This update did not fix this problem.

The update corrects a lot of issues and I would recommend you guys go and get it.

Does anybody have any ideas of my problem getting notifications? The Entune manual that came with the truck is almost useless as it describes and talks about a totally different system that what our Tacoma's come with. Very disappointed in Toyota for this!

 

Just curious, did they charge you to do the update?

No they did not charge. It follows the 3/36 mo warranty. Just tell them you are having some issues and they will update it.

 

I am going to try it right now. Update in a few.

 

Just like the description said. Worked like a champ I am now upgraded to 3.1.0 Not sure what all the package came with as I did not read the TSB but at least it is now current!

 

Is the entune a new head unit replacement, or just software? I have a 2013 and mine didn't come with this, would the upgrade still work?

 

Yep, did it earlier except I used a 2GB thumb drive (it was all I had lying around)...worked like a champ. Now at version 3.1.0

 

Nice, pretty excited to give this a try! I thought I missed out on the new goodies!

 

Question for you guys... When you have your phone connected via BT, do you get a sound from your system telling you of a new text? Mine used to and now it does not. It will show a text say on the screen saying" New Text message. Can you guys check this for me please?

 

There are so many poor reviews on this app. I'm skeptical about it.

 

They just need to work out the little bugs.

 

I do not get a sound....just the New Text Message notification on the screen.

Hopefully someone makes the 3.1 available on the internet soon, I'd like to install it without going to the dealer.

When you put the files on the flash drive do the drive have to be blank??
