Ya, sorry my posts sometimes are a little general

The bolts that holding my front skid were sheared off at the head, leaving the shanks in the frame. I wanted to either weld a nut to the bolts and try and get them out or drill and tap new holes or just get a nut on the other side which I'm not sure if I can access since eI haven't totally investigated it.

The other day, while wheeling it, the brackets for my rear sway bar popped off the axle sending the sway flying into oblivion (gas tank)

there are two bolts that hold these brackets in place (2 per bracket that is, one upper & lower) and the lower bolts had sheared off and the brackets were held to the axle by little hooks. At full droop (I was 3 wheeling) the load was transferred to the sway which limited the flex and the bracket popped off.

The bolts that had sheared off were attached to a nut that was welded to the axle. I wanted to knock this nut off with an air hammer (cant fit a chisel and BFH easily) and then use a standard nut/bolt. ALso cant fit a grinder back there because its a tight spot. I can post a few pics tomorrow if that's unclear?

Basically I have 5 bolts where the heads sheared and the shanks are stuck, 3 that held the front skid and 2 for the rear sway bar-axle brackets.

I contemplated ditching the rear sway altogether, but I would rather get it back in place and extend the links.

You'll need a few tools that I don't have for that project... I know a few others on here that do though.
Mainline could do it too but I'm not sure what that would set you back.

Any decent shop should be able to do that kind of work. A custom exhaust shop is probably a good choice. They live with welders and torches in their hands. No need to go to a specialty 4x4 joint.

 

Probably more than I can afford. Stealer wanted closer to 200 bucks, it'll take 5 minutes with an air hammer (the sway bar) and the front bolts with an air drill will go quickly too.

So anyone have a compressor? I actually have an air hammer with me that I thought might work on my OBA setup but it doesn't.
