Love those wheels. IMO you should put the black letters out and begin dechroming your truck.

Would look so badass. JMO, of course.

I was finally able to install my upgraded electrical system! I will be posting pics and details in my build thread, and a couple of pics here. What I did was I ripped out the battery, and all of the primary electrical cables for the battery, starter, and alternator. (including the ground cables) Then I installed my Optima Red Top battery, and built my own custom battery cables, with a digital volt gauge built into the new battery terminals. Then I yanked out the POS stock alternator and installed a bolt-in replacement that puts out 140A at its peak, and somewhere around 100A at idle. Plenty of power now for the stereo, and my winch install coming up. Now I have all new 2 gauge primary battery cables (ground and positive) and the alternator cable, as well as the cable feeding the truck's power demand, are both 4 gauge cable. I like! Now I don't get the alternator light flickering at idle when I turn up the radio!

Yeah, as soon as I saw this I knew I had to have it!

Since I own a shop, I have considered making a kit out of this, and building them as a package deal. Battery, HO alternator, cables, terminals, etc. Probably looking at somewhere around $500 or a little more, plus shipping. I am going to build a similar system for the 2nd gen as well. Just need a test vehicle to base it on.

Lmao. Yeah, I figure right now the kit would be an Optima red, Voltage terminals, 2 and 4 gauge primary cables, 140A alternator, and installation instructions. (It will pretty much be a bolt-in system, but with some extra work being needed to get the primary cables and the factory alternator exciter wires and starter solenoid wire together) Hell, I may even see how much the alternator and starter wires are new, and build a direct replacement kit that is plug and play. Would there be an interest? I mean I know I would have to set a price, but no need in even designing it if nobody WANTS it.

Hm. I just noticed that at the time of this posting, it is exactly my 5600th post. DAMN I talk a lot. Hahaha.

I'd be interested. My only thoughts is about crimping the ends and the stuff you discussed. If you made it plug and play I'd be VERY interested in doing it.

No crimping involved. All of my 2 and 4 gauge terminals are soldiered exactly like the factory. The only difference is the battery terminals themselves. Those us a set screw that works like your home electrical system does. It creates a VERY good electrical connection. Right now I am putting out great voltage AND current. It is better than factory!

I will be back later to discuss more. Have to head out for a bit.
