I've been getting the run around from customer relations and have gotten no where with the dealer even after opening a case up with them on my 2012. Its terrible doing yard work with when its hanging that low.

My new course is going to be to open a case in small claims where I am going to present documentation on the issue, an estimate from the dealer on replacing the springs, and the cost of an acceptable replacement set.

I may not win, but for $50 I will hope to force their hand on the issue.

Yea that doesnt make sense. Its also weird that all the Canadian ones have always had it. Why are they picking on the US?

When I called around to the Toyota dealerships I got the run around on the TSB, My 2011 4cyl. 5spd. 4x4 truck was worthless sagging so bad with minimal loads that I decided F***em and ordered the Old Man Emu full suspention with the 885's up front and Dakar rear springs for $1,000 from Auto Anything. Problem now solved !! No dipshit Toyota personel anger anymore and my truck looks awesome and rides terrific. This will unfortunately be my last Toyota since they pissed me off so bad with their lack of knowledge and customer service sticking me with a inferior suspention. I had also ordered the factory trailer tow package thinking they would have beefed up the suspention but wrong 3 leaf springs, STUPID !!!

I just dropped my 09 off at the dealer today, explained that I had a small load that nearly bottomed out the rear and gave them the first page of the tsb. Im 3or 4 days outside the 36 months but only have 14,000 miles onit so well within the 36,000 miles.

They didn't say they wouldn't do it but also didn't say they would, just a non committal " we'll take a look". I asked the service manager how they would decide to replace the springs or not and again he just said they'd look it over. I should hear back from them tomorrow, if they say no I'm going to call the dealer who replaced my old 1 st gens frame and see what they say.

It really makes no sense to me why it can be an individual dealers choice whether or not to do this, do they lose money on warranty work?

Dealer in Milwaukee said he could not replicate the tsb condtions on my 2010 v6 AC 4x4. Opened a case with Toyota customer care and they are calling in the regional tech to take a look.

They were really shitty about the whole thing too. I'll tell ya where I'm not buying my next truck from--Andrew Toyota.

If they do the work and it turns out they should not have when the audit comes they will be charged for the parts.. So Unless its a sure case they will try to avoid it. (Most dealerships anyways)
I know when i worked for the dealership we would have someone we had never seen before come in clearly needing something repaired that had a TSB and they would decline because it was boarderline not needing it. Then the next day a person we would see just about every month would come in and just ask about a tsb and we would do the work no question asked... I Know as a tech i had no say in if it got done or not no matter how much it really needed it.. SA And SM Would have the say.
Its all about the money its not about you sadly.

Talked to the area rep today. Reexplained the issue, moderate load=harsh ride.

The rep went through the paces and in the end I said " Show me where Toyota quantifies harsh. How do they measure harsh? My truck rides harshly with a moderate load, and falls in the VIN range, and is still under warranty."

Then the "You know your ride will be stiffer" story, "Yes, I know. Its a truck. A bit stiffer would be better."

Then, "maybe you could bring it in loaded?"

After a few more attempts to dissuade me from having the work done, "because you know the rides going to be stiffer and the back end may still bounce?" the conversation ended with an appointment to have the TSB performed.

So stick to your guns, and don't let em push ya around. Get the equipment you paid for.

I have a*2011*tacoma access cab base model 4x4 and I was reading about the*leaf*spring*tsb*and its true. I tried calling on the phone and they denied that it was true so I found the link to the*tsb*nd brought it to them and they showed me it was true. So they are ordering my parts and will be calling when they are in. The key words for this to happen is my truck is giving me a harsh ride when I have a load in the bed. Also heres the link for the*tsbhttp://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/att...sb-0359-10.pdf

take it to the dealership with 1100 lbs loaded in the rear. they'll see it your way. this is 1500 lbs of flooring. I had the rear TSB done already. (yes it really is 1500 lbs. 35 boxes of flooring x 40 lbs each plus wood pallet.). i would never do it again but it made it home.

When I had mine done I dealt with some dick head while driving home from work and he pissed me off so much that I drove to the dealer ship with all of my tools that was causing my truck to sag and I got a different guy and well I kinda feel bad because I took it out on him lol. But by the end of me being there they told me they had an opening 2days later and a rental but wouldn't be a truck so I said as long as its nkt longer than a day its ok... they gave me a matrix hahaha loaded that shit up with my tools and took it back filthy but with the same amount of gas they gave me it with... gayest car ive driven by far.

They tried to talk me out of it too so I ended it with I always have my tools in my truck so it won't matter.

it's been a year now with my 3+ overload rear leaf tsb done. it's way better blah blah blah you've all heard and read about it. but the thing i really wanted to say is that the ride does not feel stiffer at all. if any of you were wondering that (probably not). one dealer i went to first really tried to point that out to me at the time. just wanted anyone to know that was considering it but was worried about the ride being more stiff. I haven't had that problem at all.

Thanks for feedback, I have a 12 and considered trying to pursue with dealer but I was a little concerned with change of ride quality. I rarely load up with weight but get have shell and would need to get done while still under 3/36000. I plan to call dealer and see response for the 2012 but I doubt they will do anything.

I brought mine in to the dealer and they said it was within specs so they wouldn't do it.
