But, seriously, do you guys know of a good headlight restoration kit?

 

I got three uses out of the 3M one.

But they don't work on glass lenses. Sorry for the useless post.

 

Thanks man, that's good to know. This is going to be for Wifey's Civic so it only needs to work on plastic.

 

The 3M kit worked really well for me. Got 3 uses out of it before the finishing pad totally bit the dust.

The thing to remember is you have to clear coat the lenses after you polish them or else they will oxidizes at a rapid rate. I learned this the hard way after I did mine the first time.

Some people waxed them to try to prolong the oxidation. I ended up using Blue Magic lens sealer pretty much weekly. I think it's overhyped.

I heard good things about the Meguair's lens sealer though.

 

If you want a complicated, detailed way to do it here you go. But it should do much better than normal restoration kits.

PcBuilder: I was on TRS's facebook page and saw your truck on there! Once again, those headlights are amazing! Do they offer halos in yellow, like my offroad light filters?

 

Thanks! They only offer halos in white or amber on their website. But you could buy some halos from a different website and use them.

 

Where'd you get them from, again?

Man, I think some yellow halos would look good with my truck. Maybe TRS will offer more options in the future...

I got a speeding ticket last night, but there's a silver lining. He was hiding off to the side of the road and facing me when he tagged me and he didn't mention anything about my HIDs being too bright or illegal. SO, I consider that the moment that my HID setup passed its legal test!

 

^I tried doing a quick search for headlight law in CO, but couldn't find anything. So, I just aim them a little lower than my headlights and that seems to work The high beams still shine out far enough too.


Where do you typically look up headlight laws?

I remember reading this elsewhere also; Colorado only cares about the number of lights, and the height on the vehicle. I'm guessing this is up to a bit of interpretaion though, based on how you aim the lights.
