    So not entirely sure about Monte's plans, but one difference between where you and Ben stand and where Mark and I stand, is that you guys are happy with the current trails you guys are capable of running and don't seem to want to try anything much more challenging than them. 33's are pretty capable we've all proved that with a lot of the stuff we have done in the last couple years, but they aren't going to get me through trails like Helldorado and the rest of those at BFE as well as some of the obstacles local to me that give the guys on 40's trouble.

    While whipping it out to compare sizes and poking fun at each other is entertaining, we, or at least I am fully intending on stepping up because 33's just aren't cutting it anymore and I continuously find myself getting high centered on the trails around me because the 33's don't provide enough clearance.

    You should just build a buggy if you are going to do a lot of that stuff...or buy a rig already built and a car hauler. That's what I would do if I had it all to do over again.

    With my dads truggy, we went the "buy it" route. We had some other circumstances occur where we had to sell our 4runner that was our crawler at the time and went without for a little while. Then decided we didn't want to waste the time or money again to build something back up so bought the truggy for the same price a stock first gen Tacoma sells for. We just made sure not to get something that was thrown together. Only had to change a few things with it (and still a few more to do) but a lot less than building something from the ground up again.

    I am kind of headed that way basically. When I go up in tire size the plastic bed is going to have to go, because I am already rubbing on it a lot with my 33's. So it will become a tub bed like yours. From there I will try to fab up a way to have quick removal-able bedsides. Might even do that for the front fenders too. Then I can have them on for driving around town and in the sand/mud and just pop them off when I hit the rocks so I don't destroy them.

    I don't have a bed anymore really after we put those towers in. I need to figure out where to put my spare now too since it doesn't fit between them to go back under the toolbox anymore.

    I see. I don't even think we off that. My Intro to engineering class was like Engr 120 or something. Dumbest class ever. It was non-stop group presentations on rather difficult topics... The instructor was an ME who pretty much hated all non-ME's and made it her goal to get us to all change out major to ME...
