OUCH! what did you do! I just got done with the coldest weather I have yet faced this last week, Tarheels are in the dumps, but unlike alst of others my truck started up. slow but at -18 with -45 wind chills not too bad. I did learn one thing, I was nice and helped 2 ladies dig out, and jumped started another, but 2 hours in that with no face protection will made for a frozen and sore head.

 

Depends on the amount of lift you have. You more or less just want your front and rear driveshaft to be as even as possible. Axle shims in the rear will also help with the angle at the rear axle.

 

yea. want them as straight as possible and get axle shims to straighen out the last one. the front one on the T case won't be too bad and doesn't move up and down so its usually fine.

 

Speaking of which, I still need to order some axle shims and axle relocation plates.... Haha Thanks for reminding me!

 

alright ill come clean, ive disabled my hand before... but never on working on my truck, ive done it on construction jobs numerous times. the only things ive done to my hands while working on vehicles is minor cuts and blood blisters. nothing to cause me to want to wear gloves.

power tools yes i wear gloves, never had to use a drill press tho so ill keep in mind the part about a bit catching a glove

 

Yes. Front and rear driveshaft for the rear axle.

Nah, shims just adjust the angle. Doesn't cause the need for relocation plates. Guess I'll just buy them afterwards, just want to only have to take apart the rear suspension as little as I have to, I know my current setup has my tires farther towards the rear.

i have shims..came on the leafs Tim sold me..idk if they ar steel or not..but no problems here..same with my dad.

 

Monte, what degree shims do you have? I figure we'll be in the same realm of height in the rear once all is said and done. Or did you just go with what you were given? Haha

not a ton. think they are 3ºish.. the tall end is only like 1/4''

I went back and looked at a side pic of your truck to see. It's just really hard to tell unless you've flexed out larger tires into the fender.

 

possible i guess..but..you should be checking U bolts before and after every trip anyways

 

Skids, Skid bolts, tire side walls, drive train stuff, air filter, and yea all suspention stuff and BJs.

 

yea think thats normal..your a 5 speed right?

and when i check the drive line i just check nothing is puking oil mostly haha

and no worries..i don't check EVERY trip either..big ones though for sure or if i knew it was a rough one.

Well I need a need a new tire do looks like I'll heading to where I got em sometimes today to get the manager to order another. Hopefully.

 

That specific one, no, but my supplier does sell the ones for the 3RZ that is a direct bolt in.

 

I installed my Dakar packs a couple weeks ago, do I want these shims? Hadn't heard anything about them until now. I get a small vibration around 15-20 mph
