its special to me too. we are growing up together with it haha. i havent put as much shit on mine of course. my light status pale in comparison. but i do enjoy how we are somewhat keeping pace and moving along at the same level.

i bet you werent nearly as mechanically inclined and creative when you first got the truck

Using the word turbo in this thread is a bannable offense.

 

I don't need it to "hold weight" per se. I don't plan on throwing much more than a cooler in the bed and a tent. I just need it to hold it's own weight.

When I bought the kit initially I had hoped to get 3" of lift out of it. Tim (DMZ) said if I didn't get the lift out of it I wanted, I could talk to deaver about getting some stiffer leafs made for the pack. Well we put it on day one and I had actually lost ride height over my worn out OEM leaf pack... It has since settled to the point that I think I am at stock height in the rear (minus the tires and body lift).

I wasn't complaining that I can't haul stuff, because I don't have stuff to haul, I was just saying that I may be picking up stiffer leaf packs.

 

You can't just ignore the truth and hope it goes away

and actually..remember..i had a supra before that..so yes i was..haha and a lawn business for..11 years..so..always being a tinker and fixer person..mostly due to large influence of my Dad

my dad hardly ever built shit and always was against me doing any actual mods to my trucks. so i had to just ignore his advice and just go for it.

 

That's why I just want to do the stroker kit to make mine a 4.5L with forged internals and sleeved cylinder walls and just throw a URD kit on it. Build it up to handle the 800HP Tor is building for but then only run it at 400-500HP to have a good safety net.

 

i disagree. i think it really bought to light the differences each of us have in regards to what we want out of our little trucks lol.

my dad...is lord of Fix It haha i used to go everywhere with him and watch him fix stuff.

now we wrench together on both our rigs haha i love it. Miss it was fun getting to work with him for a bit over break tho.

His truck has some tastey mods coming down the pipe line too

i wished i had followed my dad advice with the supra. it had a blown HG and he was like "just fix it and drive it and enjoy it!"...i was like no!...GO BIG OR GO HOME! must have big turbo..lots of HP!
