Weight to power is what gets me because with either I will need 4link in the rear to actually put the power to the ground consistently.

I think once my motor dies, I will try to Swap in a 2JZ. But until then I will have this as my daily.

I thought about that, but wiring it up to be a daily will take some creative engineering where as the 1GR, theoretically, should be plug and play for the most part.

If I keep my truck as a daily, the 1GR would be a very nice replacement especially supercharged, if I wanna go for more of a race truck than the 2JZ would be the obvious choice but the amount of work to make it happen might kill that project before it would even start.

Yeah, 1GR with shorties, URD s/c, pump, injectors, and a T-56 would be the end goal. There is a local member with a LT extra cab doing 315-350 whp on 35's....... those numbers would be almost too much for a reg cab street truck.
A year ago I found a 1GR long block for 600 bucks. Should have bought that instead of the damn samurai....
2TR comes stock with a cast iron block, aluminum head, and forged internals. Running gobs of boost on it is doable, but for daily race truck purposes not so much. I would have to end up stroking and boring it to get the numbers I get out of a TRD, not even URD, S/C 1GR.....

I think it be bad ass to have a built 4 banger and when u spank dat ass you tell em sorry bro u got spanked by 2tr haha
No replacement for displacement but I think 10 lbs on a daily won't be to harsh just don't jam the pedal so hard and when you do I bet your ass you will smile the whole time

It's pretty hard to tell, pulled these images from goggle.

    Sport
    my7ezebu_2766846cb33fcfc46d4a629a4d78379b0e1219f3.jpg

    Offroad
    yhygu7yg_fdd5791d83294e16ad2a8c28505b8d629fd96802.jpg

    It's a pretty subtle difference.

The headrests also seem to be different.

LOL, I am already givin you the homie hookup. Aluminum aint cheap bruh:(
I believe the MKII kit for the 2tr is already at 8lbs and that was without a cat in it....... Still be cheaper to swap 1GR.

    motor 1-1500
    Tranny 500-1000
    Harnness 300-500
    Mounts 2-300
    Other odds and ends 5-1000
Still under what it cost to buy the URD s/c:(

    This
    you mean like this?
You have sports, offroads are not the same. At least the TRD seats are not like sport seats.

only reason why the headrests are different is bc the top pic is from 05-08, you can tell by the way the back seats are fold down instead of fold up, the bottom pic is of 09-11, you can tell that by it being at least an sr5 level and not having the airbag off switch on the passenger side, as well as the crappy style cupholders!.

From my understanding it is Sport seats that come in both the XR and the TRD 'Offroad' package and then the regular seats that come in the base 6lug models that do not hug you like the sports do.

Essentially you have SPORT seats and NON sport seats. That is it, there is no OFFROAD seats.

mostly right.... sport seats come in the sport and xrunner, sr5 seats come in the sr5 and offroad, then base seats come in the 4cyl models and are very similar to the sr5 seat but made of a different pattern fabric.

so you actually have base, sr5/offroad, sport/xrunner.
