Shesh. I get all mixed up sometimes on the nomenclature. Mine IS a 4cylinder. My supplier makes the same type of alternator though that will fit the 3.4. I believe he also makes them for the 4.0.

not sure who to trust but manufacturers list diff dimensions than the tw calculator. for instance look at the 285 75 r16 on tw calculator and on bfgs website. diff dimensions on each site. I know tw calculator is not specific for each tire and brand.

hmmm, now im confused. My next set up once I raise the truck is going to be 285/75/16

or I was leaning more along the lines of purchasing 15's and going 33x12.5

Will the diameter be about the same for both of these setups? or is the 16 gonna be bigger?

EDIT: playing with the calculator and it looks to be about the same

    285 75 r16 is a tiny bit taller than a 33 and is about 11.3-11.5 inches wide

Shorter than 33"...not taller. Pure math is 32.8" tall and 11.2" wide.

the math says 32.8 but I have 255 85 16s which are like 33.3 and my dads 285 75 16s are the exact height as my 255s
either way close to a 33

That's because even tires of the same "size" vary in actual measurement

There's so much more that goes into it than that. Air pressure, tire manufacture, remaining tread depth, loose wheel vs holding the vehicle weight.
Yes in general they are all ~33" and everyone rounds it to 33". But saying they are the EXACT height is a little near sided.

measure a 35mm CV axle nut with good enough calipers and most won't be exactly 35mm. ;)

I was debating 295/75/16 Dynapro MT's. IMO they were a little taller than the 255/85/16 Cooper ST's I had at the time of comparison (wider for sure). From the pics I've seen 285/75/16 usually looks bigger than 33's on 15" wheels. I think my next tire will be the 295/75/16, which when I was measuring the Hankook MT, measures a tad over 33" on 8.5" wide wheel while mounted on a f250. A woman I wheel with swears by them.

Every 285 i have seen next to my 33x12.5r15s always looks smaller and not just in width. Thats including duratracs, km2s, and few others. just never fill out as nice..but whatever.

like jason pointed out. SO many factors that play a role in it.

the Hankook RT03s are nice. Think thats what i would have bought had i not landed these MTRs

Ironic considering even BFG states overall diameter of brand new 285's/75/16 and 285/70/17 is larger than your 33x12.50x15s on their spec sheet. :D
