Is that from the Liberty run...last July?

Glad to know I am the reason you are going. I was beginning to think you left TW because of me since you have been so silent lately.

I don't plan on getting airborne, well maybe with 1 wheel at a time. I do have another trick to avoid getting a stinger stuck on a tree root though. I thought I lost it, but in cleaning the garage a bit to sell the house, I found it again...

So I like my beer, at any hour of the day. I blame Ben for that. He was the one that gave me the peer pressure to have a beer at 10am on the Wilkeson run awhile back when I got to see how little my stock truck can flex. I also want to make sure that I have enough beer to not run out, so I may have the first few rounds covered.

Does this mean you might make it Troy? You won't be too scared to be in the presence of a Tough Murder that you let down will you? It's okay. Your truck probably couldn't make it through Tahuya without help from others to pull you out.

Some flags and center console divider... lots of things on the wanted list.
:anonymous: I probably won't be at this one either. I'll get them back soon, I promise. Then again it is Seattle and I only need them 4 months a year

I'd like to make this trip, just not sure about my current tires. Currently running Goodyear Wrangler 255/75/17 Highway all-season M+S tires that I put on for the cross-country trip out here, had them in the snow (where they did ok), but never mud&rocks. Might wait till I can throw on some better tires.

Tahuya - This is a great opportunity for anyone who has been hesitant to make any of the trips before to get a start and feel for offroading. You will get damage only if you careless. Lets put it this way: any 4x4 can make it through this. This is a great group that is more than willing to help out.

A good majority of the trail can even be done in 2WD with decent tires.

    ^^^This

You can make it through Tahuya with a vehicle less capable than a stock Tacoma. Seriously a Ford Escape could do it successfully driven with some care.

    1. Sleep is over rated. Install truck parts instead.
    2. Rush order. Who cares if shipping costs more than the parts?

    Netdep,
I did Liberty stock and pulled through okay, except for 1 tree root. Tahuya is supposed to be easier than that and I am still stock. If you say crappy tires, I call bullshit because my tires are worse (unless yours are worn down to racing slicks). Factory Dunlop at20 with 35k abusive miles on them. No excuses. Make it there at the time and have fun. There will be enough recovery gear to get anybody out that can manage to get stuck.

For those with experience, how does Tahuya compare to Wilkeson? I did that one almost entirely in 2wd.

That's the one. LOL, I like how the pictures are of the optional mini-lake area and the optional 100 feet of rock garden. Most of it isn't as hard as that.

    Hehe, I've been stuck.
I had a root between the slider and the tire, and in front I had a ledge to climb.
My own fault for taking the hard line and not getting on the power soon enough, haha.
