We are one of the highest in the nation next to California . On a 2002 tacoma I pay 98 dollars for registration that's the lowest it will go and 30 dollars every 2 years for emissions.

25 dollars for TN plates. Don't have to pay the county fee due to being military.

I can't believe what some have to pay! CA and CO are not on my list for registering vehicles, that's for sure.

 guess its different in different parts of the state. Mine is registered as a "class 2" truck and its $86 I believe. Somewhere in the 80's. I'm not sure around here they would even allow me to register it as a car. That would be great though.

 I'd have to go look, but I thought my DC is over 4000#'s even still would put me as a class 1 truck.

Edit: Also goes by gross, no?

x3 on how it is registered as a car(maybe transferred a car plate to the truck??).....
I pay 58.50 annually for my 2011 DCSB for PA tags.. even my 96 RCSB was 58.50/yr .... Just bought/registered the 2011 in November and was told that registration is based upon GVW rating.... Interesting part was that West Virginia had 8k GVW on the title despite NADA books and the door tag being 5450 GVW. Fortunately the notary caught it and registered in the proper weight class..... Correction - After looking at PA regs on line, notary may have made a mistake - probably should be in Class 2 - GVW from 5001-7000lbs

Wouldn't be something I'd worry about. I knew when I bought my truck registration would be more. I didn't know it would be classified as class 2. At least its only once a year.

About $600 for my Tacoma in New Hampshire. It starts high and then depreciates over 5 years... The state portion is less than 25% of that, the town is the one that gets you.

worry, no worries.......... I already sent Gov Corbett a check to cover the difference..... ;)

J/K.............Certainly not worth worrying about... Just suprised at the differences in practices between Notaries..... probably just comes down to training/interpretation and I assume little oversight and/or auditing
