I'm good, Ken. Glad you're enjoying it.:)
I kind of know the feeling from working nights; when my wife's at work it's just me and Bear around the house. When I'm not napping or doing chores, there's always TW.

    Carl:
I hope it was not a costly error. I have been there before once or twice myself.

    Morning all:
For some reason, I feel like "PREY" right now. I was just talking to another tax preparer. Even though it was apparently my fault, I never made a mistake like this before when Bill did my taxes.

Here's one for Sue!! :hungry: The second pic. is a meal of the cooked tip and the hump! YUM!

I wish you all the best in your dealings with the Tax Man Carl.

About 15 years ago, I had made a clerical error on my tax return (this is before I started using an accountant and did it myself). A few months later I received a telephone call from Revenue Canada indicating the error and intimating that there could be severe penalties. After speaking with this individual for awhile, he stated that records show I had been a very conscientious and diligent tax payer over the years so they would just let this mistake go. Thankfully, I had been contacted by a real human being and not some Revenue Canada automaton.

I think you are clearly in the IRS "crosshairs" Carl - fight the good fight, bare your soul and fall on your sword. They will get their pound of flesh in the end.

Saw a good statement on Facebook a few minutes ago: I hope we never find life on another planet. Because, if we do, I'm sure our government will start sending them money.

Raining here but in the upper 30s so it's not too bad. I'm back in at work - feeling about 70% which is so much better than the weekend.

    Carl:
If you rolled an IRA, or 401K plan, into another IRA there should not have been any gain in income. Did you roll an IRA into a Roth IRA?

YES! IRA Into Roth, TAX DUE! Thank goodness it could be spread over two yrs. But now SS is also saying because my income jumped, my Medicare premium will jump to the next level. I filed an appeal on that! :frusty:
Seems like all these agencies are looking for ways to rip us off to get money to pay for everyone that's ripping the system off.

I know it sounds like "sour grapes" so to speak, but down here in the states, I truly doubt that our IRS would let that go. They seem to target the middle income, hard working, never did anything wrong, citizen.

I was just thinking of something.
Unless the preparer made a mistake, I have "ALL" the tax Pd. for that return. I even sent in the tax owed after getting the taxes done. The thing I messed up on is that I didn't send the completed return to them.

That's what baffles me. If you actually paid the tax monies owing but simply forgot to send them the accompanying paperwork (tax return).....what's the burning issue for them? I understand they want people to file returns. But, in your case, it strikes me that because you paid the taxes owing it should simply be a slap on the wrist and an admonishment to file your returns in the future. :notsure:

You should be good to go. Just send them the paperwork.

The IRS needs the proper forms on file per the tax code.

From what Carl has posted once the forms are sent in and the money paid is equal to the money owed the issue should be resolved with no penalty since no money was owed.
