I'll check it out in about 3 years... there's no way I'm buying the first year of a new model truck.

I'm not going to get into a pissing contest over which is better. I have always said that each truck manufacturer has it's issues. As an example, all those talking about how awesome and reliable the 2nd gen is, shall we remember the constant complaints on here about driveline vibrations? Frame rust? How about the fact that I am selling around 150 front bearing assemblies a MONTH because of the problems that the Tacoma has? Oh yeah, and let us not forget the unwanted ABS activation....

It is simple, ANY VEHICLE that is mass produced will have their problems. It is a fact. Plain and simple. I don't care WHO makes WHAT. For every Toyota owner who says they will never own a Chevy because they are junk, I will show you a Chevy owner who won't own a Toyota because the ones he owned were junk. Same goes for Dodge and Ford owners. I have been in the service and repair industry for over 25 years now and I can assure you that the techs that work at EVERY dealership are quite busy with having to perform repairs on EVERY manufacturer.

1st gens? are we not Tacomas? I'm pretty sure that's what it says on my tailgate.

my opinion has been stated; with less than 2% of the market....who cares? they're not really fighting over a big piece of the pie, of which Toyota has dominated and will continue to do so.

My truck has left me on the side of the road twice and cost me over 3k to fix this summer. Theres a guy on the TW Fbook page talking about how the transmission went out on his 2014 and Toyota doesn't want to fix it... these vehicles aren't without their issues either.

The sheer number of these threads on TW is sort of annoying I can admit, but it represents the fact that other companies are making moves and the Tacoma owners here are taking notice. Many people, myself included, are looking for new vehicles and are seeing what the other manufacturers are bringing to the table while Toyota seemingly lays dormant on the Tacoma. I have no doubt that Toyota has something awesome in the works, which is why I am currently keeping my pocketbook close. However, any one riding the fence and considering other truck options has a pretty decent field to choose from here pretty soon. A lot of people here are faithful enough that they would buy the new Tacoma if it came in a 4x2, 4cyl, Desert Sand Mica, prerusted frame variant ONLY, but I'm having a more difficult time convincing myself that I would be one of them. Ill just say this. I love my Tacoma and would love to get another one, but if I had to go out and buy a new truck TODAY, it unfortunately wouldn't be a Taco. I agree that something needs to be done. Time for a refresh.

    not to brainsmcknowitall

Cept the Tacoma didn start with the 2nd gen as you have to have a 1st gen to get to a second gen. Its simple math and english, and sure lets derail the thread, not like this thread matters that much.

Or common sense which you both seem to lack.

    P.S. still missing the point.

What point? A thread, in a tacoma forum, that demands toyota comes out with a 3rd gen, in a market that is only 2% of the automotive american market, or else.... or else what? GM has to do more than add a second midsize truck to overcome those odds.

Or the other point where you clearly forgot about a decades worth of toyota trucks?

    Winner.

I'm not going to be purchasing a new truck for a few more years but when I do know the next truck I purchase will have Heated mirrors, nicer interior, better stereo with blu-tooth standard etc.

I hope by the time I'm ready Toyota is a year or so into a redesign.

I'd buy a full size GM truck since they've always been good to me in the past. But as for mid size trucks Toyota is the only one I'm interested in. Well, at least until Jeep makes on based on the Wrangler.

Ok let me re-read this jargon, again.

First off, lets start with your sentence structure. As you are implying past time for the tacoma, you will want to use came, the past tense of come.

Secondly, it would be the best selling truck since 2005. It was released in 1995.5.

I believe that concludes today's lesson.

There is a company that converts them, has a topper and everything. I kinda like them. If I had 50k laying around I would buy one.
