Is there any difference in say a 2" spacer lift or 1" spacer and bilstein 5100 set at 1.75"? Using stock Trd off-road coils

I'd say with the 5100's you should get a little smoother ride. Stay away from spacers.

Yeah I know spacers are looked down upon on here, I was just wondering since it wasn't a 3" lift and a small lift if it would be much difference I. Ride quality as well

Even if its not a full 3"s of lift....anytime you compress a spring its going to give it a harsher ride.

that and with a spacer lift you have to worry about bottoming out the shock before hitting the front bump stops... thats bad.

So does the 5100's compress spring on the .85 or 1.85 setting? Clueless on suspension lifts. Been reading on them. Just want to achieve enough room to put some 16x8 wheels and some 265/75/16 later on

I believe the Offroad coils are a progressive coil spring, so by compressing them, you are making them stiffer from the get go. Stiffer spring plus loss of travel, makes for a harsher ride.

No matter what setting you put them on the 5100's they will compress the spring and thats how you get the lift. And obviously no lift a 0" setting.

I keep hearing that the off-road is progressive. What does that mean. Does it mean no matter what I get it's going to ride harsher unless I get new coils?

Any spring you compress progressive or not will be harsher.

Linear springs, no matter how hard you compress them, they will always have the same resistance.

Progressive springs, the more you compress them, the more resistive they become. Example the first inch or two of compression will be softer than the rest of the spring.
