Lol, it was a one-time thing, and hopefully never to be repeated. I had to recover this kid off a cliff. Pitch black and below freezing. Backing out of there was shady as f★ck!

I understand, but that one time thing is likely what caused your issues. I don't for see having to have my lights on for any extended period of time. So like i said, i will stick with the 886's and if there is a problem, i will let everyone know. For now, i must go light up my neighbors living room with my reverse lights. :D

Exactly, that what I said previously. But then again, if I were to leave them in and find myself in another situation like that, I'd rather not burn the shroud or wiring. I just played it safe.

They should work fine for you. I was just referencing my unbiased experience is all.

Starting to get curious about the 50W. The 35s work really well, but last night in the rain I still can't see as much as I'd like too in the rain using my mirrors.

It's either more light from reverse lights, or adding aux lighting to the rear of truck..

I honestly don't think there would be enough difference between the 35 & 50 Watts. If its that bad, i would consider some extra lights. I may still do that as well since my windows are tinted so damn dark.

Playing with the idea of those square LED pod lights mounted on top the tool box. Hopefully would illuminate both the bed and the area behind the truck. Don't get me wrong, the 35W are a huge improvement over stock, but with tinted windows and non heated mirrors, backing up in the rain sucks.

Look at what happens with your headlights in the rain.
When things get wet, they become more sharply reflective and don't reflect a nice diffused "glow" like when dry.

Remember... your low beams are only 55w! The old sealed beam lamps were 35w.

Bought 3 886's tonight. One saw it's demise to pliers and the other 2 I took my gerber to. I sliced half of the plastic housing around the bulb off and then gently and precisely wiggled the blade equally in between the flat metal and wire. Then with a few careful wiggles and downwards pressure the bulb came free with no flat metal. If it wasn't time for bed I'd post some pics of my little method haha. Fingers crossed I don't melt anything.

Went to advanced after work today. No dice. They said they don't carry 886 bulbs and had no idea were I'd find the. Wtf. No wonder I don't like that place. I'll try another place.

Thanks. But I went to Home Depot and got the T4 gy6.35 bulbs for like 12$ for both. And there's no cutting. Just bend the little wires. May have to trim the wire a little. Can't wait to put them in. If only it wasn't 15 degrees an 2-4 inch of snow today :(

Do you use the 35W bulbs or the 50W?
