thanks i appreciate it, but all a fellow... Maine-ite???? lol would need to do is more or less mail me a bill of sale from ME filled out as you selling it to me, since ME doesn't issue titles i could go to my local treasure branch with a ME bill of sale and pay taxes and then take proof i paid taxe to dmv with ME bill of sale and SC dmv will issue me SC title in my name and everything is good. ME and GA are two states that don't issue tittle, I've already done a vin check and the car is clean and clear. but ill keep tracking on

Looks like I'll be attempting the Toytec AAL soon. Found one NIB from a local for $60 so I'm getting it this weekend. That thread will help a lot... great tips and tricks in there! Adding this will give me back a slight forward lean but I like that as she sits just a tad low in the back right now.

I'll be ready for some bigger wheels and tires after this. Thanks for the link Jim!

The AAL installation isn't really that hard of a job. It ispretty straight forward actually. Good Luck to you with the installation and I hope you don’texperience the dreaded knuckle bang!!!

How much lift are you going to get with the AAL?

I think these are 1.5" but if they raise it more, then I'll have ti bite the bullet and get the 885 coils and some new Bilsteins for the front? Darn! hahahaha!

Did you set the frame on stands and then just use the floor jack to raise/lower the axle as needed? The OP for the thread seems to have done this a bit dangerously. I've got a lot of clamps so I hope to get it done without any issues. I'll start shooting all the threads with PB Blaster and do it a few times in the week before I plan to dismantle. Looks easy enough!

Toytec Ultimate: ~3" up front via coil overs, LR UCAs, and SB delete; 2+ out back with AAL and new shocks. Leer cap, padded sleeping platform in bed
+1 jack stands with floor jack to raise and lower the axle. Helps to have a friend.

Just did my AAL out back with new shocks and coil overs with UCAs up front. All pretty easy stuff, just have to read up on it a tad.

I wonder, would an aal be sufficient if you are going to be keeping the truck for a while? or would it be wise to just get an all pro leaf pack or have one made? main concern is sag overtime. That and I wold like to get a 4x4 wheeler and tow it around, plus camping gear and such without too much sag. I already had quite a bit when I hauled some rocks over to a buddies house. didn't like it much so I want to beef up the suspension a bit.

I think that depends on your wallet and how much lift youare trying to get and how soon you want it. I went with the AAL but mostly because of cost. I achieved a 2+ inch lift for around $400bucks, $300ish for the front setup and 60 or so for the rear. But if I was to lift the front like I did andalso use a full leaf pack it would have cost me 800 bucks and that was money Ididn’t have at the time.

Down the road I'll probably swap the AAL for a full leafpack but for now I’m very happy with my setup.

So far I think my truck rides great. A little more stiff then stock but in a good way, more like a truck should be. Tacoma Mike also tried my truck out after I installed the lift and he also thought it handled good. If you are considering a lift and you are hesitant I’m in the Scarborough area if you want to check/try mine out. I’m not sure when our next Tacoma get together might be???

I forgot I also added these springs in 885
    http://toyteclifts.3dcartstores.com/Front-Tacoma-OME-Lift-Coils-_p_1011.html
I was going to just preload my factory spring but I started reading that the OFF Road edition springs preloaded ride really bad.

With your reg cab (If it was mine) I would probably consider preloading the spring. But that is just me.

Time to start planning a spring meet? ;)

Jim, what is the total lift you got out of the front? At what point do we need new UCAs to get the alignment right? I know there's a point where the adjustment is maxxed and we cannot line up the front without the UCA replacements.

    Thanks!

I'll get pics uploaded tomorrow but after it settled I ended up with 2 1/2ish up front and 2ish in the rear and Truck still has rake. Original measurements was 3 up front 2 1/2 in rear  but it settled.
From everything I gathered online on TW and other site anything under 3" you'll be ok without UCAs, sway bar drop, diff drop, and bearing spacers. My alignment came in just fine and it handles good.
I also had Tyler as a sounding board as he installed the same lift, a
that is why I grilled him at Famous Dave's that day :D
    THX Tyler!

Im thinking I may just save up the extra money and go ahead and get the springs. I want to do it right ha ha. Maybe the 884's instead of the 885's. It will be a while anyways. I gotta save for tires to make it look right ha ha. Thank you for all of the info.

Yes it is time to start planning a meet in the spring time ha ha.
