How is you're office organized? I mean, do have technicians for all systems, or what?

 

Kind of. I'm still AMC, and the AMC people (testers) we have GAC, a CC(AR) and myself. AFOTEC (test and eval center) is who we are "assigned" to and they have a comnav guy. Combined we also have 3 pilots, 2 booms and 2 engineers.


The 412 (AFMC) has a handful of people as well. They have Fuels, fuel cell, electricians, hydro, gac, ccs, and comnav. They decided because this is a proven engine that we don't need any jet troops up this way.

 

You're a Crew Chief? Sorry if I've got that wrong, it's been a while since we talked work. Plus I can always plead "Sometimers."

 

I'm electro/enviro. But I was a flying crew chief as well.

I worked hard to know all about the KC-135. Made my job a whole lot easier.

This is going to be a whole new beast on this plane. I really need to get my nose in some books, but there aren't any yet for the actual plane.

 

That's gonna be a steep learning curve when the books finally show up. I imagine that's part of the job too, figuring out if the guidance written is accurate and works?

That's part of our test, yes. We can't go to operational test until we have good books.

No I'm not. The "III" is because there are half a dozen Robs in the 40+ thread, 3 of us are "regulars."

Outside chores done; went over and helped Randy relocate a huge pile of snow that people who house sat for them over the holidays plowed up right next to their deck. He should have left a snow plow plan. Took my snow blower over to edge the areas close to the house/deck so we could move the rest with the ATV plow. Still have the dishes to do after I decide what to have for lunch.
