Is there anybody who has the measurements for ordering a Tom Woods drive shaft for common truck configurations?

    Tacoma Mike,

Do you know if flex lock-up occurs in the 15-25 MPH range on these Tacomas? I was reading the following on the new RAV4: "Flex lock-up control can lock the transmission’s torque converter at speeds as low as approximately 12 mph, a marked difference from the previous generation’s approximately 25 mph engagement speed. RAV4’s flex lock-up control torque converter helps increase efficiency while also smoothing powertrain performance." If flex lock-up on the Tacoma happens in this range, is it possible that it affects this driveline vibe?

Just talked to my field rep.
They have over 40 vehicles in Arizona fitted with a new parts doing longevity evaluations.
He does not know all specifics but
    redesigned angled springs
    Redesigned center bearing
    Redesigned driveshaft.
    Have been mentioned.
Tsb launch is expected within a couple of months.
    THAT IS ALL.........

I hope so. They have never stopped going after this. It really helps when you have a good rep. He knows I'm on here and he listens and relays info to me to pass on.
Like anything else, we will just have to see.
Your welcome . Just trying to do my part......

Glad to hear this, as it lends some credibility to what my regional rep told me before the holidays. He didn't go into specifics, but said they were still actively working on the issue, and his best guess was a new TSB somewhere around March.

Thanks, Mike! A lot of what I read on the 'net is doom and gloom, but yours is THE BEST "feel good" thing I've read so far in 2014. I can't wait for the sequel from Toyota!

Toyota sold us something that, at least for me, makes my eyes happy when I see it, especially if I'm walking to the parking lot after a bad day and there she sits looking pretty, waiting to take me home.

That's the stuff of a classic and it's inconceivable for a company that built the reputation that Toyota has only to piss that reputation away with each pissed off customer dealing with such a wide spread, long term defect.

Whatever their motivation, be it pride and integrity, good business or just to avoid a class action type of suit, almost all will be forgiven if they make this right.

The question is if it actually works, then who will be eligible for the TSB.

I can't imagine them paying to fix every Tacoma on the road.

just remember a TSB is NOT a recall.

We will just have to wait and see what develops.

True, but anyone in the know and has a problem will probably be lining up for it.

    I know I will if it works.....:D

TSB's are only covered while under warranty

    No warranty , you pay

That's how this will most likely play out if it is ever solved

I would hope to be, considering I reported the issue the 2nd day I owned the truck. (Which was only 3 months ago) I also started the litigation process with them after only a couple weeks of ownership.

Both the service manager at my dealership and the regional Toyota rep are supposed to let me know when and if a new TSB is issued.

I was told by my field rep that if you have a TSB done, and they supersede the TSB with a new one, that you're eligible for it regardless of warranty status.

A bunch a cool stickers, a bada ass MetalMiller Tx Longhorns grill emblem painted Hemi Orange, JBA long tube headers with o2 sims, Diff breather mod, Red LED interior lights, Fancy head unit that plays ipod n movies, Also DIY install factory stuff like, factory cruise control, factory intermittent wipers, OME nitro struts with 886x springs and toy tec top plate, JBA high caster UCA's for better alignmnet and dey beefier too, Old Man Emu Dakar leaf springs in da rear with the gear, U bolt flipper, Ivan Stewart TRD rims with 33" K Bro 2's, some bad ass weather tech floor liners so I don't muck up my interior, an ATO shackle flipper for mo travel in da rear wit the gear, also super shiny Fox 2.0 shocks back there too, all sorts of steal armor for bouncing off of the rocks like demello sliders, AP front skid, trans skid, n transfer skid, demello gas tank skid, and a tough as nails ARB bumper with warn 8k winch, I'm sure there's more
I reported my vibration to them 3x under warranty, and they said that it was normal for the truck. So now that they have identified that it is a problem, I would expect that they would honor the fact that I have brought it up previously while under warranty, and throw some new parts at me for free.

got word back from my service rep and it goes along the lines of all the stuff heard here.

The TSB has been rescinded and they are working on a new one, which will be out "soon"

My 07 def has the "clunk". I always thought it was from my little 1" blocks.

It is most prevalent when coming to a stop from some speed.

Not sure they would do mine with blocks in place
