I am trying to help his mom set up a Facebook page and a pay pal to cover funeral costs. I will let you guys know when we get that up and running, in case anyone would like to donate.

Welp, today was the funeral. The service was very good, said a lot of things that I could really feel, voiced a lot of what I'd been thinking. That little church was packed with some three-four hundred people. I wonder if William seen how many people gathered in his name today. After everything was over, we went into a cafeteria of sorts in the church, and everyone was talking and eating. Wendy, William's mom, sought me out and asked me to follow her. She led me over to an older fellow with a grizzled gray beard, William's PawPaw, the one he lived with. She introduced me to him, and we shook hands and hugged. He said he'd really wanted to meet me, given what he's heard about me. He said he heard a lot about me from William, always good things. Said William always called me his best friend, and never shut up about me. And said thanks for all of the times I let William stay in my house and kept him out of trouble. Said I was a good man, and he wished we could have met under better circumstances. I ain't gonna lie, I was sort of crying when he said this, because yeah me and William were very close, but I had no idea he thought so highly of me, and that he always talked about me.
Then Wendy led me over to where William's grandmaw was standing, and introduced me to her. She said very much the same thing- he was always talking about me, and she was glad he had a friend in me. Then his grandmaw took me and led me to where a bunch of his cousins and school friends sat, and introduced me to them, and they all knew my name, though most of them I'd never met before in my life.
I just...I never knew how much he looked up to me, and how often he spoke of me to the people around him in Carolina. It makes me feel so much worse, because I couldn't stop him despite my supposed standing with him, but at the same time, makes me feel better, to know that I meant that much to him.

When I make enough money, I'm going to get someone to make me some stickers for my truck and for his mom's car in honor of him. I'm thinkin somethin simple like

    REST IN PEACE
    WILLIAM SHANE ARTHUR JR.

New guy here and read your post from work this morning. Sorry to hear about your loss. William sounds like an awesome kid.

Go contact one of the guys on the forum and have them make your stickers. Have them calculate the cost of 50 of them. This should be enough for you to pass out to family and closest friends. PM me the cost and I'll take care of it.

Prayers to you and the family.

Please fellas, I'm not doing anything that many others on the forum wouldn't do as well. The few dollars that is needed for these remembrance stickers for the family is trivial if it can give them half a smile during the coming times and to let them know that we care for our own on the forum. Simple rules of brotherhood.

Though I'm fairly new here since I just picked up my new-to-me Tacoma, I've trolled around for a few months and got a feeling that this forum is a cool place to be a member. I'm still active in the zrxoa and r1-forum and over the years have tried have a positive impact those forums as well.

I told the wife about this post and what I offered and she nodded in approval. Though she doesn't fully understand the internet forum thing... she knows that it is the right thing to do.
