Not at all, and I dare anyone to bring a King Ranch down some of the trails I've taken my Taco down. I wonder how shit comes out of Chaparral leather?

Screw all that nice shit. If my truck had the same interior as a humvee I'd be in Candy Land.

Why/how could you go from a Tacoma to a GMC Compact truck?? You'll lose build quality and value. A $30000 canyon will be worth $10k in 5 years vs. Tacomas $20! How about some brand loyalty...

You might just be the only one. Most people here know the value of owning aToyota and would never even concider making the mistake of getting a GMC.

I disagree.... get the diesel version when it comes out and I think the value will hold. For instance try to buy a cheap diesel from any car company.

Purchased a new 07' Chevy silverado LTZ off the lot for $40+ k. Was sick to my stomach the last two years looking at its value decline rapidly. Yes I purchased at the wrong time and paid a lot! I don't drive my personal truck very much and when I do it's in the hills. Just reluctantly sold my Chevy and bought a tacoma for the shear fact I know it will hold more value and last much longer if I keep it around. Plus they just look bad ass! I fear this site may cost me a lot more in mods then my Chevy was loosing in value though. :)

I'll tell it like this, friend. My very first vehicle was a 1995 Toyota Pick-up 4x4, pre-Tacoma. I drove that thing for 9 HARD years. Hell, there are stories that STILL get told about how tough that truck was. That thing got me through highschool, got me through college and even after college. That truck was a LEGEND.

I could sit here and type story after story about that truck, but I'd probably use up all the bandwidth on this site. I'll just tell this, that truck was beat on like you wouldn't believe, went places ATV's should only go, got hit in a head-on collision doing 35mph and STILL ran for YEARS like a champ, pulled out a stuck flat bed delivery truck in the snow when no one thought it would be able to and did it without spinning a tire, never needed a new clutch, never had a wrench turned on it, I could go on and on about that truck. The only thing that truck couldn't overcome was being run into a telephone pole by the dumb son of a bitch I sold it to. I still keep an eye open for a clean 1995 truck like mine and if I ever find one you can bet your ass I'm buying it!

Now, about selling that truck. Stupidest decision I ever made. I got into the whole craze about "I want a Z71, gotta have a Z71!" I owned two Z71's over the years. Decent trucks but a HUGE let down compared to my old '95 Toyota. I finally had enough of the nickel and diming shit that GM vehicles give their owners and said "I'm going back to Toyota and NEVER leaving this time." Here I am and I'm not going anywhere. Lesson learned.

Listen to us, do NOT go over to the dark side. I've been there and I'm glad I'm back from it! Sometimes you have to do stupid things in life to learn a lesson the hard way. Hopefully that was my last really stupid decision.

I have a friend who's looking for a new truck. I keep mentioning used Tacoma's I find. Nope he doesn't want them, too small inside he says. Whatever. He wants a Colorado. Knock yourself out dude. This guy drives a 2003 Dodge Ram that started falling apart years ago. This piece of crap will go into some sort of limp mode while you're going down the highway and he has to turn the truck off (while driving) and turn it back on. Does this crap ALL the time. Not to mention the interior is falling apart in it. He loves buying junk though because he is hellbent on buying a Colorado.

Not sure about junk, as they may all have a degree of it. My last one was terminated when rear ended on the freeway while I was stopped by a car going 65 mph. Several cars were totaled, including my truck, 6 went to the hospital, and I went shopping for a new truck. I had 300,000+ miles on it, on and off road. Ended up buying my Tacoma this time, and still very happy with it, even though it is smaller than my old truck. I got better mileage with the GMC, pulled heavier loads, and carried over a ton of hay on a regular basis.

But, with my Tacoma, I can make a two point turn on a bad off road situation where my GM may have taken a 15 point turn. Love them both, but dang my Toyota can climb.
