If you need a test truck

 

Yes they are using the Toyota OEM clamps, which continue to fail. If you guys need a test truck I would gladly drive up from Tucson and let you guys test it out on Brutus

 

We have 2 trucks here to test them on. I just need the boots to come in. But hopefully this will be a help to everyone!

 

Good to hear. Out of curiosity are boot replacements something you guys do at your shop?

 

Ya, do all the normal maint. stuff. CV's, rack and pinion, ect...

Normally we would order the boot kit's direct from Toyota, but with the new boots we will have everything here and most likely use a Swepco or belray grease.

As of right now, We won't have a grease option with the boot kit, since a lot of guys want to run OEM grease, then some want Mobil. Just too many options.

I have tried just about every after market boot that anyone can find. The lighter material tears easy as shit on the trail and wears through fast. The OEM ones are the only ones I can find that can make it through a trail with out tearing or wearing. OEM with bees wax is the best.

 

Also since you are here, you guys sell 700lb coils for the Icon Ext Travel 2.5's?

 

So according to them, they fixed it correctly this time. Picked truck up and drove home and parked it in the garage, grabbed the creeper and crawled underneath the truck only to find out that the outer boot has popped off again. Called Toyota and spoke to the service advisor I have been dealing with and he stated that it is now my problem. They will not fix it and will no longer work on my truck unless it is returned to stock condition. So I told him they could provide me a refund for the work I paid for and I was told absolutely not.


So now I've filed a case with Toyota corporate office and am awaiting to hear from them.

 

Well never go to that place again. Ever.

 

Well obviously...but now I've forked out close to $1k for parts and labor, and have absolutely nothing to show for it. Still have a popped cv boot that is throwing grease everywhere.

 

Is there another dealership in T-town?

 

There is but I'm not about to go to them and fork out close to another $1k to have them do the same work I paid the other dealership to do

is it to late to get in on one of the trips? are they just trail runs or weekend camping trips?

 

Our Rug Road run will be on March 7th, 8th, and 9th. There are 2 groups going, 1 group of 4x4's that will run the Rug Road trail in to the canyon where we will meet up with the Back Door Penetration group (2wd and prerunner friendly route) at the camp site. So this is not only a trail run for the 4wd group, but also a 2 night camping trip. You are more than welcome to join the group going in the back way as the 4x4 group has already been filled up with the max number of trucks. Not only that, but Rug Road isn't really a trail you want to do at stock height with no armor.

 

The next one will be March 7, 8, and 9. In the Southern part of the state. 3 groups are going. One that is 4x4 only. Non 4x4 and located in Tucson are going in one back way and the Phoenix non 4x4 are going in from another direction. Where are you located?
