Title says it all. Wondering what you guy think? Also got suggestions to do an "EVO MOD". Not quite sure what exactly that is but open to all suggestions!

I added some Plasti Dip to the front of mine. I sure like it. And it has held up through a bunch of drive through car washes. If you do it and don't like it, just peel it off. Here's a picture of mine.

No. Bad idea. It will peel after a few months and it will come off in pieces if you ever decide to wash your truck with a pressure washer.

^ Good point about the pressure washer.

I've had it on my truck for about 6 months now and it hasn't come off at all. No chipping, peeling, or flaking. I've been through automatic car washes at least twice a month. Not quite as powerful as a pressure washer though. I did put on four coats so that may be part of the reason why its held up well.

I've seen videos of people using pressure washers on plasti dipped vehicles and it doesn't harm the plasti dip. However, they weren't very powerful pressure washers. They were the small electric ones. If you go to a car wash where you wash it yourself with a pressure washer, that might take it off if you were close and blasted it. You could just step back a bit when spraying the plasti dipped part to avoid blasting it off.

As long as you do several coats of the stuff, and don't blast it with a pressure washer it'll be fine. And if I'm wrong and it does come off, the can of plasti dip was only $5.

Got the gas mileage down to 13mpg! Modification complete
Am I the only one lost at this question. What part of the front bumper needs to be plasti dipped? Much confusion, so strange!

On the subject of doing the Plasti-dip, I'm wondering if I should do it with mine? It is a silver with the Texas Edition Texas Ranger styled badges. Since the truck is a silver, I'm not sure how a dark plasti-dip would look and if it would clash with the silver, wondering if anyone has done the same? Pics below:

When this project was done it doesn't seem like it was done right. It shouldn't be coming off in pieces. A pressure washer wouldn't be taking it off unless it was done incorrectly. It would only come off in pieces of it was very thin coats or there was a primer put on before the dip was applied.

As long that you prep the area properly and use as many coats as possible(the more coats, the thicker it should be). I've had my tailgate emblems done since March 2013, Grill, lower valance, roof console and emblems done in July 2013. Back bumper, fuel door done in August 2013. Bed cubbies in August 2013. "Oh shit" handles in September 2013. Out of all those things I have done the only thing that is coming off is the passenger "oh shit" handle because it was thin and get's a lot of use.

So it will stay on as long that it's prepared properly and there is enough coats, coverage etc. If you are using the stock nozzles that come with the can then you're going to be putting on a lot more than just 6 coats. 6 Coats with stock nozzles you can nick with your finger nail and it will come off. I've used DYC(Dip You Car) nozzles and I have never had a problem with anything that I have dipped. I make sure I'm doing mine right because I am paying $20.00(CDN) for a can of PD.

I've done all my badges. I love how silver looks with some black accent. To hell with chrome.

Yours has a bit more black plastic than mine...I say do it. The chrome stands out a bit from everything else. It'd compliment your truck nicely.

You wanna know with the steering wheel. It took me over an hour to tape and plastic everything off. Since that I was using a stock can nozzle, it only lasted 2 weeks because of the use(plus it was very thin). Once Spring gets here then I am going to do it again and use better nozzles. I love the shit, don't get me wrong but for $20.00 a can there is only so much I can do. I am going nuts since that it's winter time and I can't really be dipping my truck in it. I am trying to find things to dip in the house. I've had Blaze Yellow for over 2 months now and I haven't gotten to use it. I just use my Macbook for testing colours, I think I am going to do that this time around and see how it looks.
