The annoying thing about the DSP's is that they fail to stay on during the low voltage dip when starting the engine (when cold). As another poster mentioned, if you turn the ignition switch to ACC, I believe (when the lights come on) and wait about 4-5 seconds, start the engine, then it will stay lighted. Seems to work every time I've tried it. Eventually, I will remember to do that, and I won't have to think about it anymore.

Surprisingly my SS ballasts weren't half bad. My driver side never failed on me! But my passenger side always took a few more tries.. Sometimes 10 tries to stay lit lol

Yep, mine too, that is called a "Quality control failure". From whom ever (manufacturer) TRs get their ballast from, they don't have a proper quality/manufacturing control certification...

That's crazy. And what's crazier is my cheapo eBay hid kit for 30 bucks hasn't failed me yet.. I'm pretty sure someone in this thread said the same thing lol

Are you referring to a D2S set up? I have the H1s and have no lock ring for the bulb.

    Thanks, anyway! It's appreciated.

Thought he might be. I wasn't sure how to secure the bulb until I searched around and found a thread here on TW.

Oops, sorry about that. So many combinations of projectors, bulbs, connectors and truck generations...

Actually, once the contact in the D2S connector on one of my SS ballast was adjusted, it was perfect. No problems with it, but now it's in Heaven.

No worries! Maybe I could've been clearer in what I was talking about. Anyway, once the bulbs lit, I had no issues, except with turning the truck on with them in the on position seems to be an issue-- they either won't turn on or they take a few seconds. If I turn them back off and on, then they fire right up; if they're off first then turned on after the truck is turned on, no problem.

The retaining clip is pretty snug on the bulb, also.

My new recall ballasts appear to be working fine. Just got to get my bulbs to sit at the right angle...

Yeah, we'll see what happens... Not sure how it works for me. Guess I just take pics of my ballasts to show them if they're the old style or not?

Just tell email them, they should see when you ordered an honor it, my replacement had nothing to do with this GB and they're now sending me all new ballasts along with a new harness I already received
