I'm not sure what the factory rear is but I had my fronts done with 3M film at 30% and they match pretty well.

If I do 20% on the front, should I even worry about the rear? Id like to do 10- 15% on the front, but dont want to risk the front and rear not matching???? Please post any pics yall might have. Thanks guys!

Is it legit legal where you live? Where I live, no aftermarket tint is legal on the front windows. You can spray paint the rears but you aren't allowed to touch the fronts. Most people do anyways, some get hassled about it, some don't it depends on the cop. I have 5% in all the rears and 15% in front I believe. Looks good.

Yes, I live in FL and this is the legal limit. I don't know the exact numbers, but I think it's 28% for the front and 15% on the rear.

so I think i want to do this....get some percent over the factory rear that makes it a tad bit darker where you can barely see inside. And then match the front to that. What do yall think those percents will be? Thank you!

I didn't match the front and rear, but they went right over the factory tint with 15% film and it's pretty dark on the rear.

I love the look, but my night vision sucks, so dark tint makes it very stressful.

It's a known fact that factory tint varies, but assuming you have the tinted rear side windows that go with the "privacy" back glass (the most common factory config I believe) then 20% llumar matches quite well. It's what I have. I did not touch the factory rear or side rears. Check the sig pic. The two front windows cost me $65 with tax at a good tint & audio shop.

yes 20% matches the rear...i also put 50% on the front windshield...cuts the sun glare so much...wish I did it to all my previous cars.

Grillcraft, with front and rear bumper/bed in the works.
Just cost slightly more then the ticket you will get in VA for illegal tint.

I know because I have been ticketed in VA twice for tint. One with a VA registered car and one that was out of state registered.

    Good luck

What percent will it take to darken the rear windows on top of the privacy tint? I carry around a laptop all the time for work and want to make sure it cannot be seen. I also dont want to risk the inside of the tint to look different between front and rear. Thanks for any help

I saw that, I want to make sure they match though and not look different on the interior. Thanks!

Same here. Legal limit is 30% here in TX. Kind of ironic since us southerners need the most shade we can get!

NC legal is 35%... I've had Sun Stoppers redo mine 3 times now because they keep fudging it up and can't get it right. Between scratching the tint and getting trash in it over and over, I'm fed up. I still have one window that isn't quite right so I'm going to talk to a whole different location about possibly redoing it. My tint experience so far has been an absolute nightmare. I've had every vehicle of mine tinted since I was 16 years old and never had to deal with this.
