Put the flashlight on it a night and they still jump out .but they look so much better in the daylight without that in your face orange.

 

how are the lenses? no cracks or haze? I would like to get them off your hands.

Need some insite from you guys. My mom just called me saying when her van is at idle the battery and brake light flash, but when she starts driving it stops flashing. No CEL and I havent been able to scan it yet for codes. Its a 2004 nissan quest.

 

Sounds similar to my daughter's car when her alternator went bad.
It didn't last long after that. Ended up needing a battery also.

 

She had an alternator go 4 years ago and it only threw a battery light.

 

Put a multimeter on that sucker and check the voltage. Not sure about the brake light, but it definitely sounds like the alternator isn't putting out proper voltage at idle.

 

Yeah that makes sense. Im gonna swap my ultra gauge over to it in a little

 

I'll let you know when its available. Should be within a couple months.

 

Cranked it uo and it was at 13.90 while driving it dips between 13.8 and 13.95. Then coming to a stop it drops all the way down to 13.73 for a second or two and then back up to 13.82. Now im just sitting with the engine off listening to the radio trying to drain the battery a little and im seeing the dash lights on the speedometer flash on and off randomly for a split second and ive never had her car do this before.

Now after starting it after playing the radio, the first reading I saw was 12.07 and it climbed back up to 13.8

 

Hmm...sounds like it's doing what it's supposed to do. Did it do anything odd when the idiot lights were flashing? Honestly, if the alternator is working, which it seems to be, then I'm at a loss. Maybe a loose wire or a computer issue? Dunno. Intermittent unpredictable behavior sucks to diagnose.

Did you get any codes?

 

finally got a code while driving around the neighborhood for 20 min

P1574 speed sensor. and now there is 4 lights on on the dash and the speedometer doesnt work. my mom is so scared she cant drive to work in the morning lol. she would flip a shit if she knew all the things wrong with my truck

 

Yikes! That doesn't sound too good. Sounds like some sort of cascading electrical failure.

 

nah, just a speed sensor. the brake, abs, trac control, and slip (light that tell you youre doing a burnout) are on, and the cruise control doesnt work
