Just remove the whole exhaust. Cheap and it will be louder. haha.

just kidding, I guess Cherry Bomb exhaust. Just get your flowmaster cut out and a cherry bomb welded in at an exhaust shop.

i would have the exhaust shop cut the 2.5" outlet pipe and put a 3" outlet and have it dumped. They did that to my truck and my friends say they get scared when i accelerate next to them because its so loud

Why? Are obnoxiously loud vehicles cool? It'd be one thing if you were driving a hotrod (as mentioned above), but it's just a V6 Tacoma. Very nice truck, but making it stupid loud is just making it look/sound cheap as hell. .02

I'd vote for just keeping what ya got and not pissing off everyone around you.

I agree with the people that are telling you it is kinda dumb to try and make it ear shattering, but its your truck ans as long as you follow your laws, whatever makes you happy is best.

That said, i doubt open headers are legal

Headers will help but obviously not "cheap". An aftermarket intake, too.

I would just stick with what you have. It will definitely get louder, just give it some time.

K&N Cold air intake, keeps the sound down when your driving normally, but when you decide to mash the gas it sounds like a race car.

And after it's real loud you can complain about how "the cops are always hasseling me for no reason". Leave it alone.

i would imagine the FM you have installed is plenty loud already. but if you insist...headers will do the trick.
remember...we have a v6 truck and 70% of the time when you see a tacoma floor it to catch the yellow light....it sound slike grabage IMO
    just my .02

K&N cold air intake, doug thorley headers, rear sensor simulator, flowmaster 40 series, magnecor plug wires, Royal Purple synthetic gear lube, airaid throttle body spacer, Hyperground system, flex-a-lite elec fan.
The more you make it try to sound like a V8 the more you will realize its only a V6. I have doug thorley headers 1 high flow cat and a flowmaster 40 series on my 3.4L Its all 2.5" pipe. People have told me it sounds real nice. It has a deep growl all the way until it redlines. It gets a little "raspy" just as it redlines but other than that it sounds great. I couldn't open it up any more without making it sound stupid though.

jonnysrt has a point too. Unless my rpms are 3500 or higher if I floor it you can tell its lacking power.

Why do you suggest deleting the rear cats with the y-pipe as opposed to the cats off the headers with the DTLT
    headers

and does the urd y-pipe really change the sound that much. I'm running it off the cats right now and i've had my eye on the DTLT headers and the y-pipe but i was thinking that i might loose some power because of the lack of back pressure because it would be completely straight piped, no cats/muffler...wouldn't i have to worry about warping the cylinders if cold air gets sucked back into the engine or am i just misguided.
