And to restir, everyone saw the new Colorado right? Not an offroader, but would be a decent pavement pounder.

I would generally say no, since we are really mostly discussing mid-sized trucks here.

The Pontiac Vibe and Toyota Matrix were a joint project. The drivetrain and suspension were developed by Toyota and the interior and basic body structure were from Pontiac. The interiors were identical. It's not surprising that some part numbers might show up as GM on the Toyota and Toyota on the GM.

Ugh. That thing's got a nose like Ray Romano. Too much grill, too much flash, not enough badassery.

Good question BruceDog. Check out consumer reports. Tacoma only has two black marks (bad) and the rest are red. S-10/Canyon has black marks on most of the years tested for fuel system. Bottom line is the used car reliability prediction. Canyon is white to half black, meaning it is average to below average. The Tacoma is all full red and half red except for 2010 which white. This is based upon reports from 2004 to 2013.

Only toes Chrysler and Nissan has is that the TItan is getting a CUMNINS, 4 cylinder if I remember best but even then CUMMINS isn't owned by Crysler

Not trying to get off topic but was wondering if anyone knows if GM and Toyota did something similar in the early to mid 90s. The Geo Prism and Toyota Carollas of that time look pretty much identical.

Yes, they did. When the brand Geo first came on the market they were basically Isuzu. Then GM and Toyota had a joint enterprise and produced a car. I know Chevy even had a compact car and called it the Nova that was the same car.

According the the latest issue of Truck Trends, the Cummins diesel that will go into the Nissan Titan will be a V8.

Yeah, they are getting a V8, and even if it were the 4cyl I would still take that in a heart beat.

Thanks man. I remember hearing something about GM marketing the compact Nova and it not selling well Mexico because of the Spanish translation of No va.

Why is there even a thread about buying a s*itbox Canyon over a Toyota? Lipstick on a pig comes to mind.

Go for it, go GMC. Just make sure you buy the best warranty money can buy!

    4.) Geo Prizm GSi

Oh, you've heard of the Geo Prizm before. But perhaps not this one. The GSi was basically a Toyota Corolla with a 4AGE under the hood. Toyota didn't even import a Corolla with a 4AGE in it. So a 130 horsepower twin cam small sedan, very very cool.

I hate to bust your bubble, but this applies to a (mine anyway) Tacoma too...

    http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/2nd-gen-tacomas/297519-my-11-tacoma-75k-miles-later.html

I'll take some responsibility for the shocks, but axles, diffs, and wheel bearings don't leave me with the warm and fuzzies...

I like my Tacoma, but not for its reliability.
