Okay.... Had to go to the backup plan.
Now that I know I'm not going to be able to do it for at least a week, the idea was to catch the Los Angeles skyline through the 1000mm glass, about 40 miles away, with the sunrise illuminating the buildings.
Added bonus had I been able to do it yesterday would have been a setting full moon next to the buildings, but today, moonset wasn't until another hour after sunrise (moonset moves out about 40 minutes per day).

I checked three different venues this morning, and while the last two were clear at the spots, the smoke is still blanketing the basin and northern end of the county.

So... I ended up getting a buttload of shots of two different examples of "Googie" design... now to decide which building and which shot.

Ok..... So I forgot my photobucket password... An only reset it now.. And haven't looked here for a bit.. But I'm always taking pictures of stuff... And this kinda falls under architecture... Well the building does... Maybe not the hipster art...

Nice photos guys! Just to clarify the point of this thread is to get people to get out and shoot and so photos can't be archived but have to be from this present week. I didn't catch any clarification with your post ha hope I'm not being redundant.

Awww, damn! I just realized after seeing that what would've been a good entry. The immigrant city underneath Folsom reservoir (aka Folsom desert right now) that is now exposed because the water's so low.
