A machined beadlock ring with color-matched screws would be awesome! Maybe a limited run? I would definitely buy those!

A small handful of select mods.
SCS can chime in but I asked them that in an email and I they explained that the ring is not removable from the wheel.

Hey guys, I have been snooping around the site for a while when I found the SCS wheels.

I have a question maybe someone can give me some insight into. I have gone through the entire SR8 Thread as well as countless pages about the Stealth 6 but I cannot find any info about fitment/look on a first gen Taco.

I have a 1997 stock height 4x4 x cab with the stock rims on the truck.

I REALLY like the look of the Stealth 6 but I have seen people posting about a 17" being too big for the first Gen Tacomas.

Has anyone put a set of SCS on a first Gen? I am just worried that the proportions will be weird since it is such a tall skinny truck.

Or would it be better to wait for the SR8 group buy and get a set of the 16x8's ?

If anyone has any info it would be much appreciated. I am eyeing the matte Black with the polished lip Stealth 6's but it would also be cool to wait for the SR8's if the fitment would be better.

It really comes down to preference as far as using a 16" or a 17" wheel on a 1st gen Tacoma. Here's an example of a 1st gen with the Stealth 6 in 17s.

    Here's our 16" F5.

Those both look pretty jacked up and lifted, plus they dont really look like early first gen.

I do like the look of those two trucks, don't get me wrong, I am just worried about 17s fitting under mine without getting a 3" lift like those 2 guys have.

What are the reccommende tire sizes for non lifted trucks usually? around 270/65/17?

Rims don't make a difference for fitting. It's tires that do. You'll have no issues fitting a 17" rim on a 97. Just pick the right sized tire

You might check the OP aka the first post. I do not believe white will be an option. At least not at this point

I know, I am stuck on them in white, I'm trying to add my .02 and *hope* they decide on selling a white set. O man I don't know why, but I jizzed myself when I saw those in white!!! White on black on a storm trooper taco, sexy all over it. Just my opinion, Flame on!!
