Didn't know about the trail until I met up with these guys. FYI this trail is 4wd only.

On a different note I bought 5100's to level out the front. A local shop quoted me $275 to install with an alignment and another $160 for the parts on the top of the shock.

Is that a decent price and is it necessary to replace the top of the shock assembly?

I had those with 886s and didn't need to replace anything. I also installed them myself with basic tools. I say don't waste your money and invite a couple TW buddies over for a suspension day and a couple beers!

Also I want to point out that anything that is 4WD only is where I need to be!

Not trying to sway you one way or another but mine and a buddy's were DIY and it was a piece of cake, really. Good learning experience too if you're not well versed in stuff like that.

I am mechanically inclined. The only issue is I live at a apartment complex. I have everything tool wise besides spring compressor and jack stands. You want to help a brother out?

Dont worry bout doing it in an apartment complex. I used to live in one and some lady asked me one day if i was running a garage out of the lot because of all the vehicles I worked on. Got some strange looks though when it took 3 days on jack stands to get new suspension on. Only took that long though because Virginia loves salt and I ended up having to drill out every single bolt front and rear

If it was my stuff, of course. But my tools extend to a 11-in-1 screwdriver, 3/8 ratchet set, and a crescent wrench. Haha. I had to go to my buddy's house to use his stuff. Not saying he wouldn't be willing to help, but I know he's finnicky about showing people where he lives. Haha. I'll mention it to him. We did rent the spring compressors though that you use an impact wrench with.

Alternatively too, grab some harbor freight jack stands and take the coils to a shop and have em put em on but it'll be a lot less since you're taking them out and putting them back on.

You can "rent" a spring compressor from advanced auto. When you return it they will give you the total amount back. Basically your just leaving a deposit on the tool in case it is not returned. Pick up a 1/2" drive set and your golden.

If your going to off road your rig you will need that set at some point if ya like it or not the cost for a wrecker to come out on the trail is way over the cost of the set as well. Don't hope that some one has what you need to get you off the trail plan ahead and get home safe.

When I do get out and wheel which has been forever I travel with floor jack, stands, and a 300+ tool kit among other items. But ya also have to remember that for the longest time I only wheeled around here with a Jeep club so my tools always saw plenty of use.

Real up in the air about it. I have a lot of stuff going on right now. If the cards lay right then don't be surprised.

We are DEFINITELY going here for our March Meetup!!! I think this is as close to what I'm looking for as I'm gonna get!

I have no problem renting out my garage. I should have all the tools you need and we can either get the spring compressor from advanced like Dusther mentioned or to a shop that will do it (usually for free)

I see sliders and some undercarriage armor in my future.
