Mine was getting hung up going from 4 to 5. The new socket really helped.

 

That's not a bushing problem, every manual car I've driven had that issue every once in a while because reverse isn't synchronized.

If the bushing is worn you'll get a sloppy shifter when in gear, popping out of gear, etc.

 

Popping out of gear is the most common from what I've seen. I assumed mine was worn just by the mileage so I bought one from marlin crawler. I didn't think the hanging up issue was related, but this pretty much solved it. When I went from 4 to 5 it felt like the lever would drag and catch against the edge of the slot. I sometimes had to take 2 tries to get it all the way out of 4th.

As for the reverse deal, I think most manuals have that issue. My old 5 lugger did, this truck does, and my dad's honda does. I think it's just normal that there might be some hang up in there.

Anyone know what this could be? When climbing hill/mountain roads my truck seems to "shift" up and down constantly until I crest the hill or give it more gas to actually shift. I use the quotes around shift the first time because the rooms don't move during the "shifting". I believe it to be the Torque converter locking and unlocking. Why would it do this?
