I currently have California tags on my truck. I like the fact that everyone on the roads here in Lansing stay the hell away from me while driving in the snow and on icy roads. I'm guessing that they are just assuming that I can't drive in the snow because of my plates. Is this a fair assumption?

I also find it entertaining that every single car/truck that I have seen in the ditch has Michigan tags on it.

BTW, the Tacoma handles great in both conditions. Very impressed!

Fair assumption. But spending time in Cali for a while myself I will say we all have our fair share of poor drivers.

Local dealer in Grand Rapids just picked up Ducati officially as of this month!

We are from Michigan we all know how to drive in the winter, well except for maybe the first time it snows each season, or after the snow melts and it snows again, oh yea and can't forget when its sunny out the snow can't be slippery. Drivers suck everywhere they are just scared of your tacoma because it is much cooler than theres.

On another note picking up another Jeep for my trail rig probably wasn't a good idea. My mod money is getting eaten up by it because the Wife want's it built for her.

Trust me, I know that Cali drivers suck. You should see what happens when it rains. You would swear that it was the apocalypse. It's a good thing that I am from Kansas and can pawn the Cali tags off on being in the military.

Thanks for the heads up about the Ducati dealer. I think that the closest one before was somewhere near Detroit. I'll have to swing out there and check it out.

Isn't that the truth. On the bright side, at least you have a wife that likes to go off roading with you. I got lucky in that department also. She isn't a fan of the mountain pass/cliff hugger roads but two tracks and desert she has no problem with. We need to get together for a snow run at some point. I hope that all is well.

I am lucky she like going to Silver Lake, she just established early that she doesn't like riding with me. Apparently I scare the crap out of her, I can't understand why .

A snow run sounds fun, when and where we want to try for?

Oh man, I remember my first trip there and I was heading back to the San Fran airport up 101? Anyway started raining and everyone slammed on their brakes and it was almost a standstill we were moving so slow. Pathetic

I understand how she feels. I tried to play it cool when I was riding with you. I was a bit nervous knocking over the edges. It was fun though.

This is my first winter here so I'm not sure how much more snow we are going to get. If I had to guess I would say a lot. But with my son here now just trying to find the time will be the hardest part. That and my work schedule. I will keep you posted. You probably know way more trails than I do. Meet in the middle perhaps? Let me know.

It's like that every time it rains. They'll drive 80mph through thick fog but 40 in a light drizzle. I could never figure out the reasoning. Oh well. Maybe because south of LA gets less "weather" than the northern part of the state. That's just a guess though.
