Bow, knives, BOB, Food, gas can. ATM I can desert my apartment in less than 15mins and last a week. It's not much, but add in that I can bow hunt, and know the forest up the road, I think I'll be ok.

Still need to buy a gun. All my tools and most of my camping/fishing equipment lives solely in the truck toolbox, so I always have it.

Bug-out bag, fishing equipment, all my tools, and my rifles, go to my dads house and pick him up since my step dad has a double cab taco he can fill up his truck as well. I would head for the mountains closest to my house and bug out there.

one thing that many might overlook, that i like to have w/ me: - mini air compressor... for addressing tire problems, especially if spare tire (when needed) is low...

I already got a full set of tools and such in my truck so i guess that is taken care of. My pistol is almost always on my hip so at a minimum that is taken care of. I keep a cold weather sleeping bag with fire starting gear in there so that is good. Also keep a hatchet and a few different knives in there for camping and recovery purposes that would work well in a survival situation. I guess if it was a zombie apocalypse I would just chuck all my weapons and ammo back there along with a camelback and my mountain bike. I know the mountain bike is not a common item to bring but it will prove invaluable. It is silent, beats the hell out of walking, reliable, and I can attach a cart to it to carry extra stuff. Plus, after gas is all gone from my truck you wont catch my happy ass in town at a gas station where all the brain eaters are.

How did I miss this thread?? Too busy checking gear, checklists, cleaning guns, modding truck and wrapping Christmas presents no doubt!! Anyway - the OP pre-suppposes a "bug out" so to say you won't is playing nice. Besides - if a cloud of chlorine gas, or VX or hoards of zombies are crashing down your castle - trust me - you will unass your residence riki tik!!

So - in my case - my truck stays stocked with "minimal gear" at all times. More or less I am able to sustain food/water/med supplies for a week. Guns don't live in the truck so if the five minute clock was ticking -- grab the wife, cat, gun bags, trauma bag, laptop and camera bag and out the door!!

My first stop -- swing by the lot that my teardrop trailer is stashed (which is stocked way better than the truck) hook up and boogie!!

Great idea -- how many have - or would - do a five minute drill? Or more realistically a thirty minute drill -- some have posted them on YouTube...interesting...might have to make it a NY resolution.

Remember the zombie apocalypse is an apocalypse and not a snow storm. I'd probably ditch the truck and strap supplies to a 4wheeler or dual-sport bike. At least where I live, even good modded 4x4 tacoma wouldn't get you far because of all the other cars in the way. A horse would be the best vehicle really if u are trying to move. otherwise most 6cyl or v8 is not gonna get u far before you are out of the juice. You could blaze a trail much better on something smaller. U can carry more in ur taco, but its also pretty limited to pre-built roads..at least in the south. too many trees.

    But yeah, hypothetically:

    -Guns
    -High calorie food
    -water
    -clothing
    -ammo

The 12 guage, every can of food I have in my emergency storage, my MRE's, water purification tablets, my propane tanks and stove, and 10 gallons of extra gas.

My truck is already prepped with my knives, lights, radios, and my tent (bestop). I'm 12 miles from the nearest peak at 6000 feet, I'd make it up there first. Only problem is finding water up there is almost impossible. Plenty of dirt roads that lead to streams and such from there though. And I'd still have almost a full tank of gas by the time I get there.

Don't have a state rig or a chopper, but I'd grab my pugs, my rat terrier, water, my shotgun, my pistol, my .22 rifle and all the food I could stuff in a garbage bag. And my wife, of course.

True fact -- a very complete and versatile weapon system indeed and the AR is mounted in the rack of the Taco....

Our plan is to stay home as well, but odds are, when the SHTF, I am going to be at work 25 miles away from my house. So who keeps what in their truck to get home?
