Factory Shock compatibility?

New member here. just picked up a 03 trd 4x4 with the access cab. i love the truck and got a great deal on it. its got 104k on the clock and was very well taken care of. it does ,however, need shocks. i found a set of 2009 4x2 trd bilsteins on craigslist locally and need to know if they will fit my truck. i am just going for a factory ride and i dont have the cash for a new set. any help would be greatly appreciated.

Great, thanks for the link. So with these shocks I can put them on the high setting and gain 2.25" of lift? I was planning on getting the "ready lift" front spacer and rear block kit. With these shocks I should be able to just use the rear blocks and get the small lift I was looking for, perfect. On another note this forum is great. I really appreciate the help

 

yeah just set the front shocks at max and buy something to lift the back a little.

 

Don't use blocks for the rear, bad for the leaf springs. Get AALs, shackles or new leaf packs. If you have the $$$ then get the latter.

 

i have always been a little weary of the blocks myself. but i was under the impression that an inch or less would'nt have that much of an affect. i really don't want to change the ride at all. i put a new leaf pack in my old cherokee and it rode like shit, way to stiff and the shackle became vertical. a new pack is also out of my price range. i guess a shackle would be the best compromise. but wouldn't a longer shackle affect the angle adversly? again affecting the ride. i dont plan to do any hard wheeling. we do spend quite a bit of time on the beach but thats about it.
