The Departed

My ex is a film study/communications major and when we were dating she told me about something she learned in class.

In The Departed, immediatelybefore anyone dies, "X"'s are present somewhere on the screen.

I checked out a few and saw them but I was wondering:

Who has seen the movie, and did you notice this?

 

Ive seen it. Its a great movie. Ive never noticed that though. I will definitely check next time. What kind of X's?

 

Awesome movie!! I just watched it for the 3rd time a few nights ago!!! I will have to look for the X's next time as well.

btw, did your ex ever tell you why they were put there? just the directors choice or what?

 

Any kind of X's. The only ones I realized in hindsight was right before the last seen, look at the carpet in the hallway. The pattern of the carpet is like this:

Haha i liked her for like 4 years before we started dating then I broke up with her after a few weeks. I like the thrill of the hunt. Once I get the kill, I get bored. (all metaphorical of course)

 

Really? Thats the same way I am too! Its like once I snatch a girl that I have my mind set on, I get bored and look for the next. Too funny!

You are quite correct. I thought they were all red but I was mistaken!
