    Hi Guys,

Fairly new to the forum here. Big Tacoma fan, I've had several through the years.

I have a 2012 Pre Runner DC, non TRD. I was considering upgrading to the Bilstein 5100's any opinions on those? I really don't have too much bad to report interns of ride quality it's rather nice.
I had a 2005 Access cab Pre with the TRD setup and it was nice but rode much choppier. I did like the tighter handling though.

Also, I'm curious about if I do upgrade if I should keep my front springs or is it a whole other deal? My overall build (this time) is more for urban street performance than off road.

    Thanks in advance.
    Ron

    You can either
    A. keep your springs (they'll work fine)
    or
    B. get eibach springs and put the shocks on the lowest setting.

Wait are they the ride height adjustable?

Go for it. They are the best upgrade you can do the suspension with spending a lot of cash. My truck had a crappy preload spacer kit on stock shocks when I bought it. I waited 4 years to put the 5100's on it all the way around and can't believe I waited so long to do it. The ride is 10 times better than the spacers and it still feels like a truck. The place I really noticed the difference was when riding on rough roads or grated dirt roads.

Hit up Downsouth Motorsports, best deal you can find. Great customer service and fast shipping.

BTW. I used my factory springs and set the shocks at their highest setting. So if you leave them at the lowest setting for stock height I can imagine the ride would be just as good.

Has anyone had to compensate for a heavier brush guard/front armor bumper (some are 270 lbs)? I wasn't sure if these shocks would also help with that if it's a possible future upgrade.

    Thanks guys!

The 5100's can handle the extra weight but your coils would have to be upgraded from stock. Either to OME's or Eibachs work fine.

I can source those for you as we'll. I can PM you a quote for the 5100s and/or Eibachs and other options if you'd like, with the TW discount. You are better off doing it the right way the first time to achieve what you are looking for.

Can anyone recommend a good installer in the Los Angeles area?
And is there two options for the rear shocks?

Not sure but I bought the combo for the wrong truck. I'll sell it to you for $360. Bili 5100's, eibach springs and bushings. The bushings were 20 extra but I'll be friendly
