I need some suggestions...I have a 2006 Tacoma Sport Double Cab with 130,000 miles. Problem is, my truck bottoms out on bad bumps, bed unloaded, with only me in the truck. It bottoms out on the slightest bump with 4 people in my truck, and the bed unloaded. And when I say "bottom out" I mean the bump stops are hitting in the rear. So I'm assuming my leafs are shot.. I'm just not sure what the best option is for me.

I'm looking to improve the ride mainly, but my truck does see some offroad use. I have a leveling kit in the front, but the front sits 1/2" higher than the back as it is now. So my question is, what option would be best to improve the ride but maintain a level look? I'm not opposed to lifting it a little, if need be, but that's not my first choice.

Since your springs are worn, you really have no choice but to get a whole new pack versus an aal. Cheapest route would be buying a used TSB pack from another member here or a new pack such as OME Dakars or Deavers. I am in the same exact scenario with my '05 and having a 1.5" block made matters worse. I went with a set of IRONMANs 2" leaf packs that just arrived 2 days ago. Paid $357 shipped but unfortunately, that Aussie co. is no longer supplying springs for the US market(according to TT and Sierra Expeditions). I was lucky enough to buy the last set from ToyTec. OME Dakars was my initial choice until the IRONMANs pricing sold me.

OME Dakars provide 2 1/2 in of lift; OP prefers to not lift. I would search for a TSB pack.

The OP currently sits 1/2" lower so going with 1.5"-2" will get back the rake for hauling extra weight. Most packs like Dakars you can fine tune the lift by removing some of the leafs.

I just bought the HD packs from these guys. Had some U bolts made at a local spring shop. Price is great (mention TW; $430 shipped to CT for both) and so far the ride feels the same (pretty smooth) as the (shitty) stock leafs. The HDs that I put on did raise the back a cpl inches but it has settled a little. I went w/HDS because I do throw stuff back there time to time. Been driving on them for a week. The back doesn't jump around as much but it really didn't all that much before. I haven't hauled anything back there yet. Changed mine because the right rear stocker snapped.

Here is mine with Wheeler's Off-Road HD rear leaf pack.

I have a thread detailing my experience with them so far with Bilstein 5100s set at 1.75" in the front. As you can see from the picture, I'm almost exactly level with the cap on and the old leafs in the bed. YotaDan recommends removing the 3rd leaf down if you're running stock shocks and are not planning on having a constant load. As it sits right now for me, with an empty bed and the cap on, the ride is an ideal compromise between a sporty/responsive feel and comfort.

Buddies 11 TRD OR DCSB 4x4 got a solid 3.75in lift from the Dakars over stock... and he swapped it out at 4k miles on the truck so stock springs didnt sag all that much.

Check out AllPro standards or Wheelers. I have no idea why all these guys recommend Dakars - they really are ill suited for the tacoma unless your constantly hauling heavy loads like a delivery truck or service truck.

looks good. Are you getting any squeaking from them ? I installed some on my 99 Tacoma and they squeaked like crazy.

I've been looking on the 2nd Generation Marketplace on here and haven't found a set of TSB springs anywhere close to Alabama. If I go with a set of HDs or Dakars, etc. it's almost certain I'll have to raise the front also to maintain a level truck, correct?

Thanks! I haven't heard any squeaking at all, I have about 350 miles on them so far. I very much hope that it remains that way.

That's a good question. Like I said, I have my Bilstein's set to 1.75. I do wish there was slightly more rake on my truck however, to give it a stance more like the Tundra. With your setup, it might have the perfect amount of rake. There is always the option to remove the third leaf from the pack if the rake is too great as well.

I wouldn't go as far as delivery truck or service truck , but agree if you don't carry loads , there are better choices , especially if you are looking for less height

Been over a week now on my General Spring HDs and they've settled a little more. Back has gone down an inch or so. Getting harder to notice but still a little higher than w/the stock. Of course that's because the stock ones sucked and were 'frowning' rather than the smile on these. Which is how they're supposed to be. There is a slight rake as you mention, which I wasn't shooting for bit now that I see it on my truck I kinda like. I'll take a picture later today. Also, they do offer regular non-HD leafs that won't be as high as the HDs. As mentioned, Prices are good too.

Here's a pic of the rake. Slightly exaggerated on this side as I'm on a slight incline. This pic from below (downhill) slope looking up at truck.
