I took the 410 to the 165 and when you get to the fork in the road, go right to Mowich Lake.

Once I get my new place in Spokane, just go to the back half of the lot and it really is camping back there. Toward the house is a nice little fire pit with several rounds set around it as chairs.

Cascade mountains. Even though you have already done Tahuya, we are doing a takeover there next weekend if you want to come out for it. I think there are about 16 trucks on board for it so far.

"forgot how to drive a stick"....? You assume I ever knew how in the first place. As for being shown up by stock trucks, how's that work? I'm stock right down to the dunlops.

I'm still in the air. Have another event I should attend Sunday. And I'm kinda broke at the moment.

On the other hand, the north end meet location is 5 minutes from my house, I have a discover pass, and I'm almost always up for some chunky dunking.

Man, this is getting ridiculous, and not in a good way.

    We have 20+ drivers.
Out of that, there's 5-6 of us who I know are experienced drivers.
Tahuya is pretty compact, and a group of 5 or 6 semi-experienced drivers at a moderate pace is going to be about the upper limit of what you'd want.

^^^ if we were to go as one big pack, this is not too far off from the truth. Expect tremendous delays. Also, we have to share the place with other groups, and I can't imagine how I'd try getting 20 vehicles off to the side of a trail to permit another faster group to come through.

Given that, there's about 2 of us who have the patience to be leaders/teachers. I'm not badmouthing the rest, but managing a group of 8 people on a course where you have to run back and forth for spotting, provide some training, plot the course, keep the group moving, and keep everybody interested... it's hard work, and not everyone wants to do that. Just like you, they are spending gas & money to have fun with friends. Their idea wasn't to give a seminar on their day off.
I love helping people, but at some point it stops being fun and starts being work... and with a busy enough location and large enough group, it becomes unmanageable.

That said, I really encourage that people have a vehicle count limit on upcoming trips, or have designated groups up front.

As far as this trip goes, we have so many people going that planning needs to happen now before it all blows up when we get there.
Some of the guys I know really want to hang out in our separate group and go at our speed, but that would leave the rest of you hanging and I don't like doing that.

I know that a lot of people are going to be upset at this, but I'm volunteering as a run leader.

    My group will consist of:
1 group leader. This person will identify any obstacles, point them out, then drive far enough ahead to pull over. They will walk back and provide spotting for people between him and the middle person.
1 other experienced driver who will drive in the middle of the group. This person will keep the leader informed of any hold ups and will act as the spotter for the second half of the group.
1 semi-experienced driver who is willing to go at a slower pace and help out as tailgunner. Your goal is to inform the group of any stragglers and assist the middle only when he calls for assistance. You will rarely leave your vehicle, you need to keep the group moving. You may also try keeping in contact with the other groups from time to time if you like - we will assume everything's hunky dory in the back unless you holler.
    3 un-experienced drivers
    Any number of ride-alongs.

My group will run the typical counterclockwise loop starting from the NE parking lot on Elfendahl Road.

My group will have planned stops at the bottom of the first hill descent, the water hole, and the rock garden. Otherwise, the pace will be kept constant so we can get through it. If we have extra time, we can think about revisiting a location.

First who PM me will be the first who I put in.
Experienced people who don't want to take it slow, this is possibly not for you

What if we do 2 groups? Go through the loop once with group 1 driving and group 2 riding along, then a second time switched?

Just throwing it out there, never been to tahuya, so don't know what the circumstances are like.

When I looked you up, it says your truck is a stick. Obviously I don't know you yet, and haven't seen what you have done to your truck (or not done). The afraid of being show up by stock trucks is my little poke at people like Brady and Joe who have done things to their rigs, but aren't fully committed to going yet.

So Mike, total group size for you is 6 trucks, correct? Just a thought, would it work to break into 3 groups of 6-7 trucks? If so, who would you think for Leader, experienced, tail on each? I am pretty sure I could keep up as tail gunner, but I am new enough that if you say I should be a rookie in a group, I would be okay with that.

I've been on the fence about going this whole time due to other commitments, and after reading Mikes comments I think I'll just hold off on this meet. He has a good point about being over crowded an all. I'm sure there will be plenty more meet ups in the future.
