Great little run today. A buddy broke his Axial G6 and then his Traxxas Slash 4x4 being goofy.

Hey guys I need some help! I had a very old traxxas nitro truck when I was 8 and now I'm looking to get back into it. I went to hobby town USA witch is right by my house and I was checking out the traxxas tmaxx 3.3, the traxxas revo 3.3 and the hpi savage x 4.6. I will be playing around in my yard and at my local motocross track or even at work in the construction sites. Looking for something that will hold up to some mild jumps and just doing wheelies. I'm kinda worried about the two speed transmissions just wondering if there are any problems with them. What's the best out of these three or does someone else have a better choice. I want a nitro. Doesn't have to be 4x4. I love the fact that they do wheelies. That's bad ass! And definitely something low maintained.

^^^^^^So much fun, there is so many miles of trails at the state park on my local lake. But can easily make a day of it. I took a 2 quart canteen, 4 3000mah batteries, some trail mix, and a granola bar. Did probaly 2.5-3 miles today.

Aluminum steering horn and battery to the front is a must for first upgrades.

I say run the stock motor/esc until you want/need a better setup, if you can get atleast some stonger lower links and steering links do so. A loweing kit such as strc or ckrc will be a good upgrade, that would be as far as you really need to go for first upgrades IMO

I would say gears, 87/18, 87/17. The factory ESC is plenty good. 35t brushed is an easy swap when you toast the factory can(which you will if you dont gear it down). The purple springs are good and light. Swap the shock pistons to 3 hole and new 30wt oil. The factory tires dont hold a bead on the factory rims so wheels and tires would be the next big purchase. Then servo, then aluminum shocks. From there replace what breaks. The PS wraith is already upgraded a little over the standard RTR such as the springs and flipped shock mounts.

Edit: With this shock set up you wont even need a lowering kit, it's almost a droop set up. Only thing im gonna change is from purple to black Axial springs which are the lightest.

just got an aluminum horn for the front of my crawler. turned the plastic one into a two piece horn this weekend when it took a 3 foot fall to a rock. surprised that was the only thing that broke.

X2 on the almost everyone runs electric
But out of those I would go with a Nitro revo because I think it be the most stable at high speeds

Is the tuning that much of a pain in the ass? I had an older nitro and I started it up and drove it and never ever messed with it. Just the sound and smell is bad ass. Definitely got that cool factor doing wheelies. Yes I know electric can do them too but I fart louder than those things haha I just want a decent truck doesn't have to be 4x4 to do wheelies and hold up to some smaller sized jumps and just racing around my yard witch is all grass
